Ebay some of the things you don't use or need... Probably need someone to do this for you because of your age though.. My daughter recently done this with some of her clobber and had a return of well over £100.. Old mobile, clothes and anything she could get her hands on.. What may be no use to you could be what someone else is looking for.. Good luck..

How about waiting on tables?
Few part time hours shouldn't be too bad and would give you a nice lump sum?

Those DNA's are wicked m8, Dunno what you can do for your insurance but if you want a detailed guide on how to get that thing doing 55mph+ then give me a shout, got my little bro one for his 16th in april, the mods are easy enough to do, still remains a 50cc, not a big bore kit or anything, just sacrificing a little acceleration for the extra top speed. Would only set you back about £50 as well.

Unless it has already been done on yours which is what most people do nowadays anyway..

You can ride a 50cc at 16

It is still 50cc only isn't it?

What bike/ped you got?

Considering my mate had a 50cc for £200 a year at 16. Now has a 650cc at £450 a year at 17.

Pay Monthly via Direct Debit?

Work Harder with your paper round :P, ask if you can start working in the shop, thats what I did at 15, I worked with same employer from 11 and he took me from paperround, to till, now I do administration work for his business and work on the side as well as college ;) Seven days a week, I know the killer experience of heavy papers haha. Working in a supermarket now is just a relief in comparison.

Ah. My mates is £15 on a 650 =S.

And yeah I know you have to be limited to 33bhp, but insurers don't always take that into account, espically with online quotes.
#20
was thinking the same, if they are daft enough to let you ride it then they should atleast be making sure that you and every other road user is safe.
#21
Don't you have like a month off school now for your exams? If your on study leave, once your exams are done get earning as much as possible. I finished my AS levels before half term and I'm working overtime a lot :)

Best to try is any local supermarkets, shops, etc now because students start to hand in notification of leave tbh.

What a STUPID thing to say.

That is NOT legal. Your insurance is invalid if the bike isn't restricted to 31MPH. Get caught speeding and it's an instant ban.

source = I have done a CBT. Backed up by wikipedia.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compulsory_Basic_Training Police pull you at 40 mph and you'll not have insurance to worry about!
#23
I have am doing GCSEs up to the 12th of june but then going away on the 30th of june to the 10th of july so not have long to work in a shop so doing other jobs may be better

It is true what you say. Something to be aware of, your liable for all damage in excess of speeds above 31mph.

I know you'll think, I bet hardly one is restricted to that, but its for a reason, safety of yourself and others. Once you feel secure of your bike, you'll just want to go faster.
#25
i personally think de-restricting it is safer. this sounds silly but if you arnt constantly speeding its ok. Going 30 mph is dangerous IMHO as traffic nowadays goes faster than that so they will be right up your ****. My mates say the same
#26
dcx_badass
I don't agree with the CBT system already, they don't have to do any theory before been allowed on the road. My mates with bikes did the CBT and were riding on the road with no idea of what the signs meant, what to do at round abouts, junctions, they didn't know how the right of way works, it's a complete joke.

It's not ideal but the only way to learn to ride is to do it - by restricting people to low power bikes or forcing them to undertake intensive training it goes someway to improving the quality of drivers on the road. There is some theory but as it is only training, not a test, you can't really be failed for not understanding.

Personally I think the theory test should be 50 questions that you NEED to get right - it's no good letting people on the road that, potentially, don't know what a warning road sign is! That'll end with people driving over quaysides! (Altough the GPS will get the blame!)
#27
I agree. luckily i know a fair bit from going places in the car with my parents and they tell me road rules etc
banned#28
Whilst were talking about tests, I did mine (car) before hazard perception etc when I was 17 (10 yrs ago) ....what gets me though, the more tests there are, the worse the drivers on the road seem to be?

How can i get catalogue work?

You might think it's safer but it is illegal - my licence is important to me so I don't break the law. It's up to you - think you're safer with the ability to go faster and I hope you are taken off the road.

LOL.

Go onto the job centre website and look in your local area another idea, its not all for people on the doll.
#34
Whats the point on paying for insurance if its not valid anyway? I mean, if you are going to break the law, why not go the whole hog and just ignore the insurance? Seems daft to pay £400 for something that is already voided due to the bike being derestricted...
#35
How about less time on here wanting magic answers and get out and look for a job? Plenty of cafes and stuff probably need washing up done.

Well, your more likely to get done over for having no insurance than exceeding the 31mph limit because I see it as, you can't do 30mph down a 50mph road without running the risk of being flatened
