I already have a dvd player with 5.1 surround sound speakers. I want a blu ray player, but I still want surround sound? Is there anyway to get 5.1 surround sound to work with a blu ray player? Also, do I need anything other than a lcd samsung tv for a blu ray player?

Do the speakers connect directly into the DVD player or into a seperate amplifier?

Down to budget, but i would get (and have got)

I got mine from AVforums classified section, paid £80 for my amp and £60 for the speakers. The amp is an older version than that one above, but the speakers are identical.

Will whoop any all in one thing you have, and those 2 are 'budget' options

Totally agree....

... but if OP has an amp already or the all-in-one has an optical or coaxial audio input then that will get OP going

TBH if its a 2-3 year old 32" it will not be 1080p and therefore you will not see any benefit over a upscalling DVD player that upscales to 720p - or a normal DVD player with component video output and progressive scan.

How does your current DVD connect to your Samsung LCD TV - HDMI / Component (3 seperate red blue grteen cables) or other?
