Hi I'm tempted by a set of 5.1 surround sound headphones for the xbox 360.
Are they worth it?
Which ones are recomended?

Thanks

There's the sharkoon ones - plenty of reviews on the AV forums but I'm not sure if these are true Dolby ones.

If you're not bothered about a mic then have a look at some of the suggestions here

Are they worth it? If you are unable to play dvds, music or games at the volume you want due to neighbours, spouses or kids, then I think they are. If you can have things as loud as you want then a home cinema system is better. I have some wireless philips ones sbc hd1500 and I use them whenever I play the xbox (which is mainly in the evenings after the kids have gone to bed). Some of the systems can take multiple imputs (Xbox, dvd, tv) so that you can use them to listen to other sources without unplugging stuff.

I bought the Turtle Beach X41s and the sound is definitely phenomenal! The difference it has made to my Bad Company 2 playing is incredible, I'm now able to hear people coming that I would never have known about before... it's really quite satisfying to turn around and stab someone who was sneaking up to do the same thing to you! :D Have been watching Blu Rays in 5.1 using them on the PS3 too, great for watching a film on your own. I'm going to get a cheap optical splitter soon so I can have my V+HD box, 360 and PS3 all connected simultaneously.

I hear great things about Astro headsets too.

Another Thumbs up for Turtle Beach from me!

Don't have the 5.1 set but have the PX21's as I wanted to use on the 360 as well as the PS3 and throughly impressed with them.

All my friends who have used them upon using them at mine have gone out and bought some.

I got mine from lime360 (Just checked they are only £59.49 at the moment!)
