What did you take it for? How did it affect you? Where did you get it from? Or any other info would be appreciated please.

5-HTP is a building block of serotonin, which is the "happy" hormone. Low levels of serotonin are believed to be responsible for mood swings and depression, migraines and even overeating. While anti-depressants work by keeping the serotonin your body produces "free" in your brain, 5-HTP can help your body produce MORE serotonin and in theory help keep your "free" levels higher

Might get some myself.!!!

I have used this and didn't have any good results. I have also used St Johns Wort and Valerian root and found that Valerian kept moods swings in check the best but the tablets do smell a bit. I got my tabs from Holland and Barret.

My thoughts on taking these was give them a go and see which one works best for me. There seems to be lots of advice out there but it is an individual reaction that will dictate wheth or not these work for you.

Thought I would share my get happy potion, all you have to do is:
Consume a fairly large quantity of Vodka and Cranberry juice, followd by a couple of St Johns Wart tabs and some vitamin A tabs, you can get Peee'd as a lord, have a great time and almost counter act the alchohol abuse.

My wife has used them and they seem to work for her. I would say they are not so much as happy pill as smoothing your ups and downs, but the reason she took them was to help her sleep, which they do.

you need to watch the strength of the pills when comparing prices etc. You can get strengths varying from 12.5mg in a pill combined with st johns wort, through 30mg, 50mg up to 100mg. Assuming the stuff actually helps the body, the strength of the dose must also dictate in some part just how effective it is.

You wont get drunk on a pint of low alcohol lager, but a pint of vodka is something else entirely.
