I saw this on yahoo and it made me laugh:

Check out our five tips for driving in the snow in Britain, though really, unless you absolutely have to travel, we suggest you avoid driving at all and stay at home.


Be prepared, Be ready for anything
At this time of year it's worth carrying around a few extras in your boot - just in case.



Slow down, Drive as slowly as possible...
It may sound like stating the obvious, but it's easier to tackle the snow at low speeds.



If you're stranded..., A few tips to help you when you're stranded.
Don't panic if you do get stranded - there's plenty you can do to survive the ordeal.



Think winter, Have your car checked out for winter.
It's always a good idea to ensure your car is well maintained, but this is particularly important in winter.

another good tip, if you get stuck in the snow, use your car mats to drive over for extra grip

Dont tell people that. Thats how all those traffic jams get started. I had people driving really slowly yesterday on perfectly fine roads.

Anyone who needs advice on how to "handle" snow needs to be removed from the gene pool!

I saw a women wearing a pair of skis and holding ski hooks. She was in the local park which is in east London Not the swiss alps. I am thinking she got a little carried away with being prepared :P

a new excuse for not going into work " i'm not coming into work today yahoo told me not to!" i deemed it not safe to go to work hahaha thanks!

Make sure that you can accessorise and take along a make-up touch up pack, just in case you're featured caught in a tail-back, on the local news.

Alcohol can double as a de-icer. You won't be short of ice.

Wear a hat, even if it doesn't match your gloves and scarf.

Think carefully about taking advice from anyone with 'death' in their name.
