My brother got 50% off an iPad with an online offer he got with his work (he works at Lloyd's).

What website is nutty enough to do a deal like this and how are they holding onto stock?

3 have offered me the ipad for £199 and £25 for 24 months, because £799 is cheaper than the RRP.

3 probably think you are stupid enough to fall for that...

Interesting to know if this is legit. I work for Lloyds and have just checked our colleague offers website and it only gives £9 off of the 16Gb wi-fi model.

Bit more info would be appreciated

Thanks

Or maybe your brother is a liar.

Lloyds insurers now physically underwrite with iPads, isn't it?
#8
Or they've increased the price by 40% and then taken 50% off?

Right - done a bit more research.

So it was through his colleague offers site. Apparently at 12 there are deals which are crazy good. But they sell out really quick??

@lougar - can you shed any light on this?

I'll try and get a login and have a look around tonight.

lol that sounds like the biggest load of tosh ever.

Why would a colleague site have a fire sale in conjunction with Apple?

Sounds like you've been feed a load of bull poop.

Right I have just had a thorough look around the site, as there was nothing on the main page. There is a 'WOW' (weekly overwhelming offers)(very small) icon, which I clicked on. This then took me to another page that states I can purchase an iPad (16gb wi-fi) for £214.50 in 60 mins. This is allocated to the first 5 members only.

Previous sales were at 12pm, 12.15pm, 12.30pm, 12.45pm and 1pm which all sold out,not surprisingly !!

However only good if you are staf of LLoydsTB.

Now have 50 mins to talk my wife into letting me buy one (_;)

Will report back

We have a works thing and I pads were half price, but you got the other half back in vouchers to spend somewhere else if that makes sense

******** It's not 50% off!! I get the same deals sent to me at work. You get 50% of the price back as POINTS which you can then spend on... who knows what because I've never looked!

Ok so I'm looking around colleague offers site now. And they've had 5 deals today which all look like 50% off but are actually that you get 50% back in points once you purchase the item full price.

You can take your points out via BACS as cash - but it costs you £14 for an upgraded membership to do so. It also looks like you can spend the points on nearly everything else on the site though... so I might just by a nano for myself !! X)

Don't mean to revive an old thread but just thought I'd clarify for everyone here.

I'm a member at Lloyds - the Colleague Offer was to get an iPad at 50% off, you paid 100% retail and then upto 7 days later you're colleague offer account was credited with say £199 worth of points which you could/can withdraw and deposit back into your account without being charged.
#22
are u sure it wasn't 99p or £9.99
