£50 off Littlewoods voucher??? Very confused ...Please advise..

I would really appreciate a little advice, earlier on today there was a voucher code for £50 off Littlewoods with no minimum spend.
This code I used, and it worked ( twice ) the price that I accepted to pay was firstly £21 and then £27 giving a massive saving.
Have recieved emails confirming these amounts, but when I checked my bank, it is showing £150 pending ( which is what the amount would have been without the discounts ). Can anyone please shed some light on this for me?
This is my first ever post, and so I apologise if I have made any mistakes.
Thanks

I used a discount code for Additions and it was spend £60 and get £30 off.
The took the full amount of £60 out of my account and then credited again with £30.
So it maybe that you will get the discounted amount credited back to your account.

I know some people have to wait a few days/weeks. I was lucky it happened the same day.
Good luck

there was a huge thing over littlewoods charging full price for people who had unauthorised use of codes eg it wasnt send to them so id be careful with them!

Oh Dear that doesnt sound good.... I think I may cancel the orders if its not too late, as the extra they have taken is actually destined for my mortgage account.

what was the code?

We have ust used this code loads of times and am now scared of being charged the full amount as i wont be able to afford it.
Do you think we can just send the items back if there not opened incase this does happen?
thanks

Littlewoods always take the full amount, then refund the voucher if you're eligble to use it.

No problem with this is that you only get 14 days to return the goods and if the company did want to come back to you then it would be much later than that.

I have used these code loads of times though and have just used this twice (searching for items to go in 3rd lot) - so I am quietly confident

the only thing i am worried about is the terms and conditions on the website, i used the code about 6 times!
and on the bbc website mentioned on the post earlier. I have used previous codes on sites like this and its been fine, it just seems this code is too good to be true, all my friends were using it to... i am going to be very unpopular!
#11
I have just used this code too, hope it works

You do realise that the BBC link is over 12 months old! Im sure Littlewoods would have thought of some prevention to ensure it doesn't happen again...I wouldn't worry!

2.3 Promotional codes are codes that enable customers to obtain benefits such as discounts, free delivery and free gifts. These codes are non-transferable so may only be used by the person to whom they are issued and must only be used in accordance with their terms and conditions of use. If you use a promotional code to claim a promotional benefit, you must first check that it was issued to you and that you are eligible to use it. By using it to claim a promotional benefit you will be confirming that:-

Does anyone know where this code originated from as I cannot find any mention of it other than in this thread. It just worked on Marshall Ward but obviously I haven't checked out

No, I think that it is a valid code as I used a £50 off one last November and that one you had to phone up and use

Used it 5 times between my 3 accounts (additions, marshal ward and great universal) and my MIL 2 accounts

just made a account to try this but i think i got my email address wrong so i cant log in to check it lol
#22
Just use the code.

There terms and conditions are contrary to the law. Keep a screenprint, e-mail confirmation of the transaction, and be happy. You may have to fight your corner, but you are in the right if they try any jiggery-pokery.

I used it last night to get a DS lite. :)

i used this yesterday, my basket came to around £10 but they have applied for the full amount of £60 from my bank. how long does it usually take to refund the money back into your account?

I think it's on dispatch, I haven't used Littlewoods and their codes for a few months though.

There was a no minimum spend so it might have been a mistake or only meant for a few people. did you manage to get the 50 off and actually receive the items? my mum emailed them and asked them to cancel the order due to fear of being charged!

Its not a matter of whether you will receive the items or not that you should be worried about. Its the fact that this has happened last year where they say you are not supposed to have used the codes so they try to take their money back 2 months later. At that time, everyone used their items already and well past the return for refund date. So when you receive the delivery, it doesn't mean much because they can always do what they did again and try to get the money back.
#30
they shouldnt be so foolish though! especially as the code worked over and over again for account holders.
I recieved some items today already!
when it happened last year does anyone know if they managed to get all the money from people... did they just charge their account?

If you use a promotional code to claim a promotional benefit, you must first check that it was issued to you and that you are eligible to use it. (i) you are entitled to use the code;
(ii) you meet all the conditions that apply to its use;
(iii) you agree to the terms set out below.

If, before accepting your order, we find that you are not entitled to use the code or do not meet all the terms and conditions of its use, we may reject your order or alternatively process it without the promotional benefit being applied. If, after accepting your order, we find that you were not entitled to use the code or did not meet all the terms and conditions of its use, we may reverse the benefit that you obtained. If you transacted on a cash basis e.g. by debit or credit card, we may take a further payment, equivalent to the value of the benefit obtained, from the card used. If you transacted on a credit basis, the value of the benefit obtained may be charged to your credit account.

my insider has told me this code is a relatives and friends code. there has been an error. before the code went live. it should have been minimum spend £100. this would have been known to whoever recieved the code via the cataloges email list.
don't know whats going to happen. worst case if you had a minimum spend less then £100 the code will be invalid and a credit account will be opened if you paid via card. then just return the goods

maybe thats because the item was over 100?
#34
There might be problems with this code. However all the £30 off for new customers codes work fine. They are desperate for customers now, all the bad press they got from last time must have woke them up.

No. I remember that that one was no minimum spend too because other HUKD'ers ordered made orders for much smaller amounts

I recieved some of the discount/refund to my Account however not all of them yet. a year ago when this happened everyone was discounted and given the £25 off straight away only 2 months later was ordered to give it back after all the items had already been recieved and opened. I emailed them today and they told me i cant cancel my orders now even thouh it was only last night?

when they say you can't cancel your order its because it is allready being processed and is on its way, when I've tried cancelling in the past they said this and told me to refuse deliverey when the man came

Last yr they didnt get any money back from me. Maybe because they already debited my car ( i dont use the account option) i pay on my debit card.. so i guess when they take the money they cant more on another transaction? thats my guess.. lol
