What should I do? Sony say it's out of warranty. It's still sealed.

Is it worth selling it here or eBay or having it repaired? What about Continous Play?

Rep available as always! Thanks guys (and gals)!

how long you had it?
Could always go down the sog act route. A £300 console shouldnt be expected to last only a year.

Have you tried a different tv? have you done anything (installed anything) on it that might have caused this?

It's a launch console - tried saying 'I expect it to last at least two years' and Sony are just telling me to pay £145. Have tried on two different standard TVs, a 1080p TV and 720p projector! All the same - and my JAP console plays fine with them all on the same cables...

Nothing's changed since it was working fine.

I've taken out the HDD and tried it but still nothing on the screen. It hadn't been updated in a while - it's running 1.8 fw

take out the continous play then, give it a month then claim. or sell it on ebay for someone else to do the exact same.

Is that really the best idea?

Any idea how much I'd get for it as it is?

You won't get much for it, probably £5, but I'll be generous and give you £10 for it. Deal?

Could probs sell it for £70-80 I'd say.

mate two things to try, I knew someone who used to work at Sony

when the ps3 is in standby mode as in the red light showing, hold down the power button until you hear two beeps... the ps3 will then refresh all output sources ie hdmi and scart ... try this with both leads plugged in and failing that try it with 1 lead at a time

if that dont work do continuous play, simple.

hope the 1st one works

let me know how it goes

Think that only works if you have a newer firmware - I've only updated to 1.8 on this one :(
