£75 HMV Vouchers need to be used by 31st May 2007!

Some of you will recall that towards the end of last year, upon purchase of a mobile handset from O2 (I think) on pay as you go, you were also given a huge £75 worth of vouchers which you could register online and use towards any purchase as long as they were used before 31st May 2007, to date I have not used these I have no idea what to use these for.

I was hoping that some of you could advise on any good deals that HMV have or alternatively if there was anything worth buying which could then be ebayed for a tidy profit?

Thanks in advance,
G

you could buy something for £75 and then refund it if they let you...

Even if they only gave vouchers back, the date would be extended that way

Are they vouchers or are they now in your e-wallet.
I seem to recall quite a few of the vouchers did not redeem properly...£45 of mine had problems...sorted in the end via O2.

I have £150 in my wallet and was hoping for a Wii but they never came in stock...I agree it is difficult to decide what to do with them....I'm ever hopefull a Wii will come in stock...bet they don't have any until after May 31st!!

They are in my E-Wallet, really need to use them still have no idea on what! lol

What about something like Xbox live points? you could get 5 (2100 point cards) for about £85 (£17 each). 3 of them went for £47 recently on Ebay so you might get about £14/£15 for each and postage would be cheap (or zero if you email the code).

12 months live subscription would have been a good choice but unfortunately HMV charge £7 more than the cheapest elsewhere.

If you've got an extra £24.99 to spare, and if of course you like Friends (and don't already have it), you could always get the Seasons 1-10 DVD box set

How about using the vouchers to buy games or something and then selling the games as sealed/new on ebay, that way you get the money...also more people likely to buy games than a voucher...well I probably would be happier buying a game than perhaps vouchers
#12
If you do decide to sell them rather than use, sell them on eBay rather than on here...people are too bargain aware on here, you'd get more on eBay.

Hi,

Thanks for the responses, not sure there is enough time for eBay, besides the vouchers are in my E-Wallet. I think ideally I need to find something that is worthwhile buying and which I could easily sell on eBay for a decent price.

Cheers,
G

If you need help spending them you could buy forza 2, then I would buy it off you obviously not for £40!

PM me if interested, thanks

buy some dvds and sell them on ebay for roughly the price you got them for? or something like that, look for something you could sell and get you're money back

Last time I looked my expiry had been extended to 31/08/2007.

Dear Mr *********,
Thank you for your email.
I can confirm the reason these vouchers have now left your E-Wallet is because they have expired. The reason for this is because It seems that there was an issue with the extension of the expiry date on Motorola vouchers and they have had to be withdrawn as per their original expiry date. I can only apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
If you have any further queries please feel free to contact us.
Kind Regards

Who was the now-cancelled extension date organised by...Moto or HMV?!?
Nothing to loose by firing off a letter of complaint to whichever. 5-10 minutes for the POSSIBLE re-instatement of your vouchers or some sort or offer even if it's not for the full amount

Replied nastily, will wait & see what happens.

Hi,

Can any of your nice people who have had their evouchers re-applied please provide me with further details via pm such as the person you spoke to, your name, email address etc?

The reason I ask for the above info is because hmv are being very unhelpful and are refusing the reapply the evouchers and they stated they knew of no cases where anyone had them reapplied, they have just suggested I write in to their head office!

Any help with the above would be appericated?

Thanks,
G

Panic over, after I emailed and I asked the issue to be addressed by a manager they emailed back and said the evouchers had now been reapplied back onto my account until the end of August 2007! :-D

buy disney dvds, the well known ones as they tend to go up in value, or at least never go down in price like normal dvds, then sell them on amazon

Hi mate just logged in to my account at Hmv to see what i could use my e-vouchers on and they were gone, then i found this thread, could you tell me who you contacted to get the vouchers re-applied to your account.

I also new about them being extended supposedly till the 31st of August so was a bit peeved to see them not there, cheeky beggars ehhh!
#26
a bump as i am looking for some help on this, as hmv are telling me tough luck, even though i seen the changed 31/8/2007 expiry date :(
#27
Hi,

Its that time again where I need to use my £75 HMV vouchers before they expire on the 31st Aug! Any suggestions of anything that I can buy and easily sell for a profit?

Otherwise it will have to be the Nintendo Wii Console + around £100 in cash.

Cheers,
G
#28
I'll give you £20 for them right now :)
#29
I'm guessing there are no bargains at HMV at mo?

Is the Nintendo Wii Console likely to come down in price over the bank hol weekend, as I remember reading that the xbox 360 was coming down in price or has?

Cheers,
G

Xbox 360 premium is now £249 ad the core is £179 i think.

There are no current plans to lower the Wii's price.
#31
Wii price is not going anywhere (till Christmas).
Buying now at this price is a safe bet imho.
#32
You could make money on the wii, stock is short now and nearer christmas could be even shorter.....
