You should have left it after a few weeks of the auction ending

If i were you i'd do it soonish as on the 15th sellers will not be able to leave negative feedback.

you bought a sofa:whistling: no sure how long again to leave feedback. some people on her will def know. sorry am not helpful.

but today is 90 days isnt it. so tomorrow i would not be able to

click on the leave feedback for that transaction link, then bookmark that page.
You should then be able to access that page whenever you want and then leave feedback - the ability to leave feedback doesn't really end after 90 days, it's just that the link disapears from 'my ebay'.

That's clever thinking

you think i should wait and leave it after the 15th when sellers cannot leave feedback to buyers. But that be after 90 days wouldnt it. I dont want her leaving me negative when its her fault

Genius if that works!! Nice one

how do i bookmark the page, just by adding it to my favourites or is there a special way on the ebay page.

I presume that the cheque hasn't been cashed? Do you really feel that strongly about leaving neg feedback? Has the seller tried to sell it again (ie do you think she backed out of the sale becuase it didn't sell for enough)? Try bod emrys suggestion of bookmarking the page.

When should I leave feedback?

You have 90 days in which to leave feedback from the date on which the listing ended or the buyer clicked Buy It Now. You should wait until the transaction is complete before leaving feedback, i.e. after the seller has received payment and the buyer has received the item.

its a real shame that members like yourself dont warn others of this incases of retaliation, and dont appear to be rude but if its 90 days for you then its 90 days for them, why do you think they cant do the same

she said that two cheques did not arrive and then she sold the sofas to someone else. she had paypal account but insisted we sent by cheque.:w00t:

it would be pretty cool if you left it now and then by the time they realised they couldnt do it back, go for it!

Sassie has made the strongest point here re feedback. By not leaving feedback at the relevant time (in order to protect a retaliatory neg) you're potentially allowing others to follow in the same trap.

It's a wee bit selfish in my opinion. If you have good feedback then others reading your comment will appreciate your honesty in the transaction and be able to make their own minds up.

I make today the 90th day but yes if they go by 24hrs from the time auction ends I would think tomorrow. Bookmark the page today just to be sure.

ignore this

people are going to do this regardless of whether or not you do it, you can't let this person get away with his bad transaction otherwise another buy will not be aware and it go wrong for them, you have to help the ebay community by making them aware of this persons faults as a seller, other wise the next transaction that goes wrong for this person, their victims bloods could be on your hands....DO IT DOOOOOOOOIT

Proximo,

I don't get this, madkid has let this go on for 90 days, so you're point doesn't hold. It's the very point I'm making. If you have a bad transaction and unable to resolve, then the best way forward is to leave honest feedback from your point of view asap.

The fact 90 days has passed means that others could already have avoided this trader if they had been aware of the history/transaction.

unfortunately for him he was scared of being given neg feedback unfairly, he was even bullied I would say, into not leaving feedback at all due to this thread, its not too late for future traders to be aware of what happened, better late than never surely?

Why would anyone be scared of negative feedback when it's so obviously retaliatory ? I don't expect all traders to have 100% due to possible abuse of feedback, however it's important to put in a comment which accurately reflects the transaction. Anyone with sense would see where the problem lay, unless of course it was a common occurance.

The OP should have done it immediately they knew the transaction would not be completed. To try and get in a comment without the right of reply is unjust in any circumstances (ok, unless in a domestic) :)

However I agree with the last part of your statement, better late than never :)

even when the seller would abuse the right to reply to make inaccurate claims about the buyer?
banned#26
It's their word against the buyer, but a follow up response is allowed. If I saw a few reports against a seller stating the same facts, then I'd say it was too much of a coincidence and steer well clear, whereas the OP would only have the one remark/neg and it would be plain to see for all who is right/wrong :)

Staying the silent 'victim' helps nobody, after all you summed it up by quoting 'other ebayers blood on OP's hands".

What's the damage in getting a simple neg anyway. Would 1 random neg put you off a buyer/seller if they had good feedback otherwise ?
#27
did you not go to pick it up?

Love the bod emrys tip - very smart. Interesting exchange between aScottishBloke and Proximo. I can see it from both of your POV. The seller has abused the system here if it has happened as the OP states and this would make me mad as hell too. But then again, it's a matter of does one wrong deserve another or is it best to let it go? One potential risk of sneaking in a last-minute neg is that the seller will get you back in another way. (You might want to add him to your list of blocked buyers list if you haven'y already done so.) I had a similar issue last year and I vowed to do the same thing as you - set up a reminder in my diary - but when the time came I decided not too. I had lost any emotional feeling about it and he had received a couple of negs in the meantime from others. It might be cowardly, but I also didn't want to risk retaliation, especially as he had shown himself to be very aggressive. I got a bit paranoid about what he might do

Does anybody know if a seller can still leave neg feedback after 15th may if the sale was before this date or is this the cut off date for neg feedback for all sellers regardless of the item end date ?
