What car?

It could be one of a few things, but saying what car may help.
#2
Could be worn ball joints.

Is it both ways or predominently one side?

Probably best to get a mechanic to give it a quick check over.
#3
cv joints

Ok, well I don't know the civic, but it can be the top suspension mounts.

Could be many things........personally i'd take it to the garage in the morning and get them to have a look for you.

They'll be able to tell you after a quick waggle and feel. :-D

Get them to have a look and tell you what it is and quote you and then tell them you'll get other quotes and get back to them after you've rung round. :)
