I took advantage of Tesco Canon 400D offer that was on and I must say it's a brilliant camera!

It was my first day out with the camera using the lends kit.

Just a bit of background info; I have absolutely no previous photography skills. That said I've only used a digital camera a handful of times in my life

I'd appreciate any C&C as I can only learn from my mistakes :)

I've only just got round to post-processing my pics and most of these were trial and error and I managed to fill the capacity of my cards. Here are a few selected ones that I found to be pretty nice (EXIF Embedded):

The second from the bottom picture is brilliant!, Really like that one!

I've not got many camera skills either though, A can press a button and put them on the PC, Thats about it!

I'd like to get a proper SLR though, They always produce great pics!

As much as I want to agree, that is far from the truth. You can put a good photographer behind a basic camera and he/she will produce stunning results. Morale of the story? It's not the camera, it's the photographer!

But if you've got a the budget for it, it's always a great step to take as you're not limited to basic functions. When I processed these pictures they turned out to be 'amazing' in my terms and its only encouraged me to go out and some more in the future! :)

For landscape yes, I can take quite good pics with a point and shoot, Motorsport on the other hand!, nope!

I'd really like an SLR for the TT races, Rallys and all the other events! :)

Some great pictures there though! (I posted before i'd seen the second lot!), I'd say you have a hidden talent also!

Some excellent photos

Think you should have over exposed the pic of the cooling towers though where they are just a silhouette, would have made it a lot better.

The rocks photos tend to be better from directly above as well (although I did it with pebbles)...

I'm aiming to get either a D40 or D80 so I can up the quality of images taken (using a Fuji S7000 at the moment).

She has some pretty good pics but I can't understand why she's ruined them with them huge DA watermarks!
