Hi All, finally set up my wii not long ago

A few questions, whats the transparent circle thing thats in the box?

Whats the Wii friends code everyone is on about, and what can you do with it?

Ive created a Mii, but what can I do with it apart from using him in a game?

I would read the manual, but dont want too :whistling: :p:p

Thanks

The circle thing connects to the bottom of your stand so the Wii doesn't fall over.

The Wii friends code is in your messages section - you can send messages to people in your friends list - bit pointless at the minute (I think your friends can also be in our "parade", which is also a load of b0ll0cks).

The Mii is basically a saved character of yourself where you can store your acheivements.

Nintendo need to allow multiplayer on the Wii...........

I'll try and answer your questions! :?

This is a stand for your Wii. The console just sits in the gap.

The friends code is the ID for your Wii console. This is used for adding friends to enable you to swap Mii's, send messages, send pictures and in the near future for Online Multiplayer games I believe!

You can send your Mii to friends, who can then use them in their own games. You can also transfer your Mii to your Wiimote, and you can take your Wiimote to your friends house and play on their Wii, with your Mii which is stored in your Wiimote. Ya get me!? :?

Hope this has answered your questions!

There may be more that I don't know, this is all I know! lol

Thanks guys, at the moment, I just plonked the wii on the stand without the transparent thing!

Hmm so the friends code thing not active yet...? So the codes like an msn address? Is it like instant messaging? Emails?

Nice feature that you can save the Mii on the wiimote! I wasnt aware that it was capable of storing!

Thanks again

can someone tell me what "wii points" are for?
#6
Wii points are used to buy VC (Virtual COnsole) games. These are games from the NES, SNES, N64, Sega Mega Drive and I think thats it!

Once you buy the game, you have it for good. If you accidentally delete it, you can still download at no extra cost.

I believe you will need the classic controller or Gamecube controller to play these games as they are not compatible with the Wiimote.

Hope this helps!

it does! thanks a lot. do you know roughly how many points you would need for a game such as.... goldeneye on nintendo 64?
#8
1000 N64
500 nes

1000 points is £7.
Can be bought using the wii using credit card dont need to buy cards from shops.

£7 for 1000
£21 for 3000
£35 for 5000 points

Why no saving on more points I dont know :(

was that genuine?

Yes, from nindie.com it was about £1.49 (delivery) for 2000. Wish I'd taken up this offer :-(

Not all games require a classic controller/gc controller.

I downloaded bomberman and it only requires the remotes for 5 players - and tbh it's easily the best multiplayer game available for download - so much fun!

Sonic also uses the remote OR the classic controller.

Super Mario 64 requires the classic controller however - and it works really well!

hello can someone tell me how you download the virtual console games, or where i can buy them from. thanks in advance.
#14
:?

Umm, you have to have an active internet connection with your wii (wifi). Then you go to the wii shop channel and either buy points online with a credit/debit card or redeem a wii points voucher.

Then download the game of your choice and it will appear as a 'channel' on the wii menu.

will it work if i have a wireless connection. do i need to connect to my router.
cheers.

You have to have either a wifi compatible wireless router or a wifi usb-dongle. You'll need to check instructions of your router to see if it's wifi compatible.
