I read this article and felt quite compelled to post about it here... it's just so brilliantly written and anyone who has ever seen Watchdog will know it's just so spot on. :) http://talk.radiotime…

Watchdog is, incidentally, on tonight at 7.30pm on BBC1. (24/03/2008)

Hmm. Not so sure. They are journalists. They rely on viewing figures and usually take on stories for items they can speak to someone and usually humiliate. That said, I love a bit of humiliation melted out!!

The trouble is that whenever they feature something that you actually know about, they get most of it wrong. It's the same in most newspapers as well. Just lazy low class journalists I suppose.

Did any one catch tonights episode then?
I did chuckle (bad, I know) at the greedy guy who obviously bought 13 of those TV's from musthave100 to sell on, and was complaining about being conned. Why would any reasonable person risk so much money with a unknown company.

Why do you say that?

It wasnt just this set on offer (though obviously the biggest talking point!)

One guy lost £3700 - and hadnt ordered any Beko's either.

He actually said I ordered 13 sets of the TV if I remember correctly. That really got my goat.

I recorded it - I'll have a replay! Yes he was very greedy if that was the case.

Nope.

Just watched. His name is Mike - and from Essex (one of the guys I mentioned.)

He ordered TWO sets and lost £1300. So not the Beko's.

He's also lost the lot. Paypal have refused to pay him and he was really hoping that WD would put pressure on Paypal. Had an email from him a few minutes ago. He didnt mention it was him - or what he bought - but its his name in the email - so know!

Whoops my bad. Was half watching whilst struggling to revive a server.
Good to see watchdog reported on it though (months later). It seemed like a pretty big scam to me in the scale of things.

I replied to his email and asked!

He did order a Beko - but only one - and in a seperate order. It was a Pioneer PDP-428XD-T25B that was the big hit!
