A long shot....................but. (Wanted)

I'm looking for a control panel from a Ebac 2000 series dehumidifier.
I've blown a component on mine and it seems such a shame to tip it for the sake of a 30p part which Ebac refuse to supply me....

So if anyone has one that is lying around broken please get in touch.

That's like a far away as the moon longshot lol

Have you tried local repair shops, I know mine can get pretty much anything! If you want me to ask them tell me exactly what you're looking for and I'll ring them tomorrow for you.

I take it it's out of warranty :

It's a surface mounted voltage regulator. part no. stz7m-y201.
I've tried to find an equivalent but had no luck. I have spoken to Ebac and the company that produces the boards for them, but neither will help me with the part or the equivalent part no.
They will sell me a new control panel at half the price of a new unit.

How do you know it's a voltage regulator?
How come you have you been able to diagnose it so far but now can't repair it?

If it it just a voltage regulator that has failed then they may well be various alternatives you could fit. But I would need a bit more info to help.

Hi bigsky.

Th board has a 10 pin connector which was by mistake plugged into only 8 of the pins and powered up. It blew the top off the voltage regulator. I'm not sure if there is any other damage to components until I replace that.

I can post some pics if that would help.

Yes, a pic or two would be handy

SMD codes can be difficult to identify. "ST" could well be STMicroelectronics. Z may mean a zener diode (sometimes a voltage reg with zener). But I can't find anything on that code in my references.

The fact that the voltage regular blew up does not necessarily mean it is the only component failure. It may have been the only visible failure but other components may have failed even though they don't appear damaged.

Obviously if you had schematic it would help to work out what is going on so it would also be worth trying to get hold of one if you can.
