Let's see if you can identify product by its description:

Auto power control
No USB/network connection
Built-in speaker/buzzer
Peak power consumption 2KW

Any takers? :)

Worlds greatest/worst eggtimer?
#2
Nope :) Nothing to do with eggs.
#3
Some sort of radar???????
#4
Door Bell?
#5
Er.. not really. It emits in infrared spectrum though (when in normal operational mode and not subject to auto power control) but not sufficient to be used as an IR radar I guess.
#6
A 2KW door bell? Jeez, are you really love your visitors that much?!
#7
A robotic vacuum cleaner?
#8
A (very inefficient) step monitor?
banned#9
An electric fire.
#10
Not cleaner, step monitor or fire.
If it helps, this thing cost less than 50 quid. It is also available off Amazon to give you a rough idea.
#11
cheap CCTV system?
#12
im guessing its some game? not sure what tho
#13
They sell almost everything on amazon Kommunist....anyway are you going to recommend it as a hot deal when someone gets it right???...is this item designed for mobility??
#14
To consume 2KW it must be really serious CCTV system!
The thingy doesn't have camera or visible lights apart from backlit LCD.

im guessing its some game? not sure what tho

Well... some might possibly consider it as a game. Just not me. :)

I am not sure if that is a hot deal, but I am using it daily and pretty pleased with it.
And it is not a mobility item.

It also can not move by itself, but can sense motion when being moved around. It also got a habit to tell you that you (in its opinion) forgot about it and it might need some attention from your side. And no, it is not a tamagotchi :)

A steam iron?
#16
Amazon haven't got into selling torture devices have they???

A steam iron?

Hoorray! You got it!

This is the Morphy Richards 'Digital Iron'.
It got backlit LCD display to show its status. There is a buzzer which is activated every time you press the control button or when it wants you to pay attention to the iron.

The motion sensor is tracking the iron movement and if left unused for 30 seconds (plate down) or 8 minutes (plate up) that alarm is activated and power is automatically switched off.

Congratulations! http://netlab.e2k.ru/forum/html/emoticons/newest/clap_1.gif

#24
THANK YOU:thumbsup:
#25
Actually I didn't :) But some people got strange ideas...
#26
yes a bargain at £20....so can anyone buy direct from MR???
#27
I think this is now discontinued as they are marketing new updated model - 40714. The new one lost LCD (never understood what was the point of it anyway) and gained some power and LEDs. It also looks a bit smarter than 40620.
TJ Hughes are selling it for £33.50 delivered. Here is the link.
#28
Thanks Kommunist.
#29
Morphy Richards are selling directly their lower-end iron - 40715 with similar features for 28.49 delivered.
Their webshop is here.
