A tool to deceive and slaughter

Is this really art?

Artist Caleb Larsen's A Tool to Deceive and Slaughter is an automated black box that perpetually attempts to sell itself on eBay every seven days. According to an agreement drafted by the artist, failure to comply with this, and almost 20 other rules, will invalidate the box as a work of art. So basically you buy it and then immediately have to put it up for auction again. The good news, I think, is that you get to keep the money from the second sale. Bidding starts at $2,500.

thats pretty cool
What a load of balls!
very clever concept.

If I didn't have work to consume my creative mind I probably would have time to devise such works of art.

But I have bills to pay
wonder if anyone will buy it
wonder if anyone will buy it

It's on $4,250 with 12 bids already
its like the movie 'the box'
It's on $4,250 with 12 bids already

so it is!! it didnt load up properly first time i looked

The seller pays 15% of the profit to the artist so the artist could make a fair bit of money from this idea
and of course, ebay make a killing off it continually reselling on their site. I wouldn't be surprised if they were involved somehow.
I cant be bothered reading all his terms and Conditions but If I had the money then I would buy it and smash it up.

Then let him take me to court to try and sue me for it's full value.
Modern art is a total scam, It's like the emperors new clothes, About a year ago I was in a art gallery and one of the pieces of work(Cons) was strip lighting hanging from the ceiling as if it had fallen and my aunts neice who just finished her art degree had four push lights that you can buy from ASDA arranged in a square and stuck onto a wall, I just think these so called artist are thinking "what piece of crap can I make up today out of junk give it a stupid name like "the defeat of the butterflies" and sell it for £10,000 because some pretentious idiot wants to look clever"
Q: If I were to buy this, how long could I expect to own it before it sells itself again?
A: It is hard to say. Like any commodity it is subject to demand. It could be moments or years. The perpetual state of uncertainty and the instability of ownership are primary components of the work.

Thought it was every 7 days??

Rubbish idea (does it actually do anything), but good money spinner for ebay...
