Does the stereotype still exist? Would you treat someone differently because of it? Peter Andre said he was at Liverpool station wearing a tracksuit and only the 4th cab driver stopped for him.

I am prepared and quite happy to rule out entire groups of people according to what they wear.
I had some CVs come in this week for a job I advertised and once I had narrowed 100 down to 10 worthy of an interview in 20 mins, I then hit their social media accounts before inviting to interview.

2 I rejected for wearing tracksuits whilst not partaking in a sporting activity.
2 I rejected because they were wearing Ugg boots and one of them was a man!!!!
1 I rejected as she was snorting a fat line of posh

The other 5 I invited for interview.

I don't have a problem with people wearing tracksuits at all but I know a few people that would consider it "chavy" but they aren't the brightest of people. I say wear whatever you find comfortable, that's what I would do.

Yes ! Unless you think Women dropping off kids at school and going shopping in pyjamas is haute couture? But I dare say they are super comfy :( By the way who is Peter Andre ? Does he play for Accrington Stanley oO

It's ok to be in tracksuit bottoms, there is no place anywhere for someone in a matching top and bottom tracksuit.

As long as it's not grey, isn't tucked into your socks, you don't wear a maroon T-shirt under it and you don't walk around with your hand gripping your crotch, you'll be OK. Otherwise you look like a con.

I'd work on your self confidence about what people think, more than what your going to wear.

Each to their own, but I guess if I see someone wearing a track suit I do think it's rather chavy in a "I can't be arsed to get dressed properly way" . But what do I know , I also have an adversion to people wearing trainers for non sporting activities such as shopping, and I seem to be totally alone in that .;)

Trouble with a tracksuit though is if you get an erection. :(

depends on if you have a cap on and a cheap gold chain. if just the tracksuit and you dont need to catch a cab then you should be fine in asda.

I think that like with all clothes it depends on the cut and who is wearing it.

Track suits are obviously sports clothing so if you look in good shape and sporty and it fits well/style is fine then you will look good. If you are very overweight it is difficult to pull it off.

The soft grey ones do look like PJ's though.

It's fine, but if I find out you're not a breakdancer I'm going to be disappointed :(

If you post a picture of you in the tracksuit, we'll be able to comment better as some people look chav in whatever they wear, whereas others look great in anything ;)

A whole suit looks bad but just the bottoms can look fine if one of those light fabric puma ones (that's not light green in colour oO)

Really chavy if it's a top and bottoms. Just go with the bottoms and a T-shirt.

Not chavy if you call it leisurewear, right? https://youtu.be/n53a9jc35-A?t=54 (not even remotely safe for work)

What a edwardian way of thinking, how is putting a pair of jeans and a tshirt on any less lazy? Your point is only valid if you wear a shirt, tie, waistcoat etc with a top hat etc.

As long as you jog or run everywhere then I don't see a problem.
