I bet the bus driver will receive disciplinary action. Kicking the man in the stomach is out of order in my opinion.

That's the problem with political correctness and management who are never put under similar circumstances as bus drivers have to put up with.

The self defense specialist has it spot on. The bus driver forced the perp of the bus and the perp fell over but was about to get back up so to stop any further attempt the bus driver used more defense by kicking him in the stomach.

You don't have to wait until you are attacked to defend yourself

But as I said with management only experiencing the odd paper cut or spillage of hot coffee whilst moving in their high back luxury leather office chairs they will take a different view - hopefully the media attention and the support from the public might persuade them otherwise

Completely agree from a criminal conviction point of view it's self defence in court and would win as he had a duty of care to his passengers and himself from a bus drivers job point of view he'll be lucky to keep his job because of snowflake management it's a real shame as he was protecting every body on that bus. If this wasn't just a normal drunk guy but a terrorist and the bus driver put him down like this the media would be in a frenzy the bus driver would be a hero everybody would be saying he was a hero. This drunk guy was just as much danger to the bus driver the passengers or even himself imagine the bus driver just pushed him down closed the doors and the drunk ran In front of the bus this driver made a split second decision to protect everyone around him in a self defence way. I really hope he is awarded for his act to protect the people he had a duty of care to.

He will most likely lose his job and possibly face criminal charges. These people film should of put their phone down and helped!

Not everything has to be shared on social media just for likes

I wish it to be more like that too but sometimes people filming have actually helped police catch criminals sometimes it's the only evidence available

soon as the driver stepped outside his cab he's liable, bus company's are ruthless at sacking drivers at the drop of a hat. he'll unfortunately lose his job. their mantra is your a professional driver, you must act accordingly despite difficult circumstances.

I was under the impression that the driver wasn't allowed to leave his seat and had to simply stop the bus & report issues straight to the police.

your right he's not, he can phone the police, but will wait a long time, he can phone the depot, he'll be told to transfer his passengers and he'll go to another point in his route. and probably what he should have done in hindsight is press his panic alarm, that noise 9 times out of 10 acts as a good deterrent and they run.

Good on the bus driver. The shock on the fellas face!
Due to the person who felt the need to film it then the driver will probably lose his job,so well done to that idiot.

If more people could boot scumbags without any comeback there would be less Bell ends roaming the streets

As previously stated - had the perp been a terrorist the bus driver will be seen as a hero

As with anybody recording similar incidents sometimes it will help the case and sometimes it will go against - that's humanity and political correctness for you.

I'd assume if the perp had attacked anyone of those who think the bus driver deserves to be charged with assault family or friends then they'd potential change their view point.

I don't condone violence and I didn't see violence. I saw a man protecting those he is responsible for.
Yes he should of called the police and may be he did and had been waiting too long. Maybe he contacted his employers and they told him a replacement (or whatever) is on the way. Or maybe he just "got on with the job"

If I was his boss he'd be rewarded for his effort but reminded of his responsibilities and procedure if they were in question.

Hopefully the public support for the bus driver would help him keep his job and if not you would help another bus company would be more than happy to employ him.

I watched it again and I can't stop smiling the way the guy holds himself together after the swift kick it's like he is shocked I doubt he do this again in a hurry. It's flipping brilliant good on this bus driver.
