AAAAH! My Playstation has broken again - can I complain to someone!?

My PS3 stopped working (downloaded a required update-it immediately stopped reading discs). It was out of warranty so i asked Sony to fix it for £99. They picked it up and, one week later (today), replaced it with a "re-manufactured one" as they couldn't fix mine. Today I finally managed to play the new Call of Duty game on my 'new' PS3....Guess what, it broke in exactly the same way as my last console (after the same update), and now am waiting for Sony to replace it again.

this is rediculous - they've sent me a broken console which, might i add, was VERY dirty on the back. this replacement was not fit for purpose, so they're replacing it. How do i know the same thing won't happen again?? i might aswell fork out an extra £80 for a new console to save all these phone calls and lugging a fat PS3 around central London so Sony can pick it up in work hours.

Can i complain to someone other than Sony, they don't seem to give a monkey's....

grrrrrrrr

you paid £99 for a repair?
thats a rip off.

by doing that you accept that the fee is fair and you agree with it, hence you paid it.

should have complained before.

watchdog wont take your case unless other people complain to them for the same issue.

It says it fixes a known issues with drakes fortune regarding the freezin in update 3.0.0.

They didnt make the update specially for drakes fortune.

Everyone has to update it to 3.0.1 now. I did to play cod mw2.

i agreed to pay £99 for a repair so i had a playstation that worked, or for (as they told me) a NEW console. I got neither - it was a faulty re-manufactured one.

mine was the 40gb fat one. it worked for 18months without any probs, then twice, in two consoles in two weeks...both after the same update. different games though. i've only managed to get onto the 3rd level of modern warfare 2. i'm not a happy bunny/

Why not test it at your office premises before taking it home & save yourself a journey carrying it each way?

Is it possible that it received a jolt in transit back home today?

Can the Sony delivery representative not deliver to your home early morning or late evening & wait until you test it there?

BFN,

fp.

it wasn't bumped. it worked fine for 30 mins then just stopped.

it's not a sony rep that delivers, it's DPD, a courier firm so they have nothing to do with the product. Sony's delivery service is pizz poor - you can choose a date, but no time. it's 8am-6pm mon-fri, that's it. i can't really use a ps3 a work, though it's a good idea to make life a little easier (even though, on first trying it, it did work so it wouldn't have made any difference).
