I wasn't looking for a definitive answer as to whether it was good or bad. I was looking for opposing opinions from people.

Your post basically defines any debate made in any forum. Surprised you needed a post for that.

In a country that has a sexual health and teen pregnancy problem surely this is a step in the right direction.

Sex is fun, sex is natural - so let's practice safe sex and remove the taboo/shame surrounding it (put their in part by the religious).

Thank you for not putting 'big boy' at the end of that sentence.

Enough though.

safe sex prevents pregnancy, not rids after the event

I take it that's a reference to m IP address and the notion that I was banned from here and have signed back up.

Well it's not true I'm afraid so can we stop the sideline in distraction and leave space for an interesting exchange of opinions.

Do you have any you'd like to share?

Why is it that I get the feeling that I have met F&F somewhere before :)

abortion is not a contraceptive

A good thing. I hope they show the ads in the breaks during Jeremy Kyle.

I don't see a need to advertise abortions tbh.

Cant see a problem with it at all. I realise the pro life brigade and the religious types will be up in arms, but I firmly believe in free choice for women.

I once accidentally ran over a Pro Life campaigner, I was off for the snip at Marie Stopes, swung into the car park, and some nutter was in my way with his placard. Best thing was he apologised to me!

No it isn't. But it means one mistake doesn't have to lead to a baby being born in unfavourable circumstances.

Personally, I wonder why kids don't worry about ruining their lives by having a baby as a teenager - we have to, as a society, question the diminished expectations of kids.
banned#18
we shoudl be looking at other ways in educating our young children/upcoming adults in sex, not leaving it as it is and advertising abortion to deal with the after advent

Look how many young girls watch Eastenders for example,i thought the way they portrayed Danielle's abortion was disgusting.

It certainly wouldn't have put anyone off having unprotected sex and worrying about pregnancy, it came across on screen as a mid afternoon inconvenience ,job done!

society has gone nuts, its time parents started being parents again, took responsibilty, this is the problem and where it all started

Well abortions are a choice and all choices have consequences. It's natural to question your actions and think what if.

I should point out that condom ads being put before the watershed is another of the proposals, so contraception is in there too.

It's very easy saying that, but you have to look at the root of the problem. Has society alienated people? Who failed the parents of the pregnant teens around now?

Im not saying it isnt a choice, we have thousands of choices in life, we dont need an advert to see them, we need a good upbring, a stable home, know that we are loved, even for our mistakes etc,etc

the root of the problem is parents, end of, parents stopped being parents, not all teen pregs are from failed families, broken homes, i know that, but surely we need to educate in prevention of pregnancy not advertise how to get rid of

But it is easy, clinically speaking anyway, its a straight forward procedure that can be carried out quickly. Obviously the emotional fallout is a different matter.

All forms of contraception should be promoted to encourage people to take responsibility for their own fertility, but most contraceptives are only 99% efficient so mistakes will still happen, and should be allowed easy access to services to resolve their problem, whether it be termination or adoption.

Which is another of the proposals.

Again, why have parents 'stopped being parents'?

No it doesn't I'm afraid. You said 'parents have stopped being parents', and I asked why.

Have you seen what happens in abortion clinics? I have and it is disgusting. There is an abortion clinic a quarter of a mile from my home. You can't drive down the road sometimes with the amount of people waiting to get in there. They have a big chimney similar to crematoriums, and the smoke billows at night.

That's a simple one. They no longer have the time to be parents. *old man mode* When I were a lad the father went to work, the mother looked after the kids *off* Just doesn't happen anymore.

You seem to be offering up simple platitudes without any actual answers behind them. Saying parents should be better parents doesn't explain A. why they aren't or B. how they can be.
