I am after a quick bit of consumer advise.
Bought a refurb laptop last August with 12 months RTB warranty.
A couple of months ago it developed a screen flicker problem so I contacted the retailer and agreed to return it to them at my cost for repairs.
I agreed with them that I would send some video clips to clearly show the problem anticipating a no fault found reply.
The laptop was delivered to the retailer on 1st March and after chasing them got a reply on 9th March to say they could not reproduce the fault but did acknowledge that the video clips send on CD with the laptop do show a fault so they would send it to a specialist repair centre and I would get a response within 2 weeks.
Today I chased them again and they have no feedback from the specialist laptop repairer and say I should wait another week for news!
So my question is this Is there are precedent set for a reasonable amount of time a warranty repair should take before I can start to put pressure on the retailer?
I can understand that if the fault is not easy to replicate then it will take some time but to be kept without a product that I have paid for indefinitely is not acceptable.
Any ideas / advise much appreciated.
