Accident claims - Kidzclaimz commercial ridiculous claim culture - discuss.

Is there no end to this claim culture? I saw this commercial asking people to claim for falling off a swing. I am sorry but unless the swing was faulty, falling off a swing does not warrant a claim. This is getting ridiculous. Surely it's the responsibility of the child, or whoever is supervising the child. Here's their spiel...

We at Kidz Claimz realise that many of these injuries can have a life long impact which may not always be apparent from the outset of the injury. It is believed that in the UK approximately 1 million children and young people are injured due to an accident at home, on the roads, in school and in playgrounds annually.

.......establish if there may be a claim for compensation

Something else to thank the septics for - bl**dy ambulance chasers!

It is all getting too much.

This made me laugh though from their web site.

For kids you can claim for:

Loss of earnings which the child may incur from part time jobs prior to leaving school.

I guess this is why I can't find any swings to go on at my age being 24 :(

o my days!!! wow thats absurd!

No wonder kids can't be free to play and be children nowadays with all these legal firms waiting to pounce. This is a disgrace.

This is the problem. Local Council's get criticized for coming up with so called 'daft' ideas, where they ban kids/people from doing certain things, or take certain amenities away, but you can hardly blame them given the ever growing blame/claim culture. They just can't afford to take any risks.

Be a miserable world for kids - no parks because the council have shut them down, no footballs in schools. .. let's hope it doesn't catch on all these silly claims

It most certainly is real Saint. This is a link to one of their commercials on TV but I saw a different one about a swing.
This is not a spoof.

We are getting there, I am on the parish council and have been advised to settle out of court because someone got a (admitedly big) splinter in their hand from our slide, our insurer says they have too strong a case, even though our annual inspection passed the equipment, we now have to check it weekly and keep a log! so we had to restrict access for the last three months, the adjacent parish council shut both of their parks for over 6 months, because someone shut their hand in the self closing gate....I mean trying for compensation for being an idiot!!!!!! they didn't win, but even whilst it is in litigation the sites had to stay closed.

What you really need to do is to find an ambulance chaser to sue them because they raised your expectation of getting compensation when you did something that was your own fault so you got nothing. And, no doubt, you could then find someone else to sue the second firm if they were unsuccessful. Before long, the country would be full of lawyers - a frightening thought.................

It's ridiculous, many kids are already over protected and unable to play out properly because of the constant threat from child abducters etc. Now, the place they can safely play with their family is under threat because of these crazy opportunists. If this becomes commonplace parks will shut down, and children's memories will not be of happily playing out in the summer sunshine, but being stuck inside with a few friends and a playstation.
This is really bad for kids and should be stopped, it's absurd! But there are greedy parents out there who will be willing to exploit their children for small pay off ...

Beat me to it, Thej.

I hate the world sometimes. People just can't accept partial fault for an accident and move on. Nobody, who is still able-bodied has the right to sue for these kinds of things.
