i havent done a bios flash in years, i remember doing it once but those were back in the days of floppy drives and win98 :-D
Flashed it to overclock it i believe.

I just bought 2GB stick to go in my dell mini 9, yet to install it though as girlfriend has the lappy and ive got the ram :-D

Cant see much point putting more ram in anyway. I bet if you benchmark a 1gb and a 1.5gb machine the differences will be tiny and even smaller above that.

Acer haven't locked down the amount of RAM in the bios, you can flash it all you want and it won't achieve a thing. They've built 512MB of RAM direct into the mobo, the chipset still supports 2gb but there's already 512MB of RAM so unless u've got a 1.5GB stick (LOL) there's nothing u can do about it! Maybe u can disconnect the 512MB they've already put in and add in 2GB yourself, but it's not worth it for an extra 512MB!!

Ah well that would explain it then. And nah i would bother trying for an extra 512mb. But i got a dell mini 9 anyways, which supports a 2GB stick :p

I have 1.5 Gb ram and it is more than enough ( turned off virtual memory in XP -no errors and no unjustifed HD activity))

I have heard stories of AA1s with >1.5gb ram having the third USB port disabled because of address conflicts too ( maybe hearsay)

COCO

MACLES is the GURU of AA1and BIOS upgrades are clearly described
