i live in leicester so im hoping as we have a larger tesco they will have a few
#6
Are they available from midnight??
#7
Do you have any idea what time this price will be valid from? Wondering if I could try before work about 7am
#8
do u know if northern ireland are included ?
#9
Nice deal if you can find one in your local store. I would advise not phoning and asking as it tips off staff. Also if you go into store just ask for the laptop and don't say 'the £200 one' or 'half price one'.

its on their website - http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.208-4552.aspx (at full price)

Get me one if you go, I can't get out tomorrow:friends:

When it said laptop I thought it meant 15.6" screen however it's 11.6", sounds more like a net book to me. Still a good price but the word "laptop" threw me a bit.
#14
Any idea if this offer starts at midnight?
I have a couple of 24hr Tesco stores near by.

yes it's a netbook, no dvd drive
#16
Is it worth me staying up till midnight and heading to my local 24hr?

Have to be up at 6 to go running, surely the staff will have pinched all these already?

Or is this another hoax to get a hot deal? (No offense OP, just we have a lot of it on here!)
#17
this seems a genuine deal may go there tomorrow to see if any are still available.

I’d class it as an entry level thin and light laptop rather than a Netbook as the performance alone takes it out of the Netbook class.

in the description it says windows7 home premium in the description is says windows7 starter anyone know what it really is? and does it really not have bluetooth, thought a ferrari would have all the bells and whistles? lol

Processor Speed in GHz 1.2.
sounds like a skoda, lol.

is the performance worth shouting about.

From my understanding X2 is dual core. So it should be far more better than atom.
Definitely better than other 11" netbooks because of more memory (usually 1GB max) and HD graphics adapter. Well, that's my opinion. I think I saw one of these playing full HD videos somewhere as well.

Compared to a Netbook (Atom CPU) this is very fast but it's slow for a laptop.
It’s closer in performance to a 2GHz Core 2 Duo than an Atom.

It benches a little above the atom N330 so no too bad. Does use 13w vs the Atoms 8w mind. The HD3200 chipset is rather heavy on power too, yet quite powerful at this level.

I purchased this for £420 a few months ago, its worth £400, at £200 its a steal! Im gutted its so low priced now.

One thing to note, the Ferrari outer styling you can deal with, the engine roar on 'start up' is unbearable and somewhat embarrassing!
#25
basic but not bad for £199. does anybody knwo whether this is from midnight, mite go down. i live in leicester. anybody else thinking of goiin
#26
Its one of the best netbooks around at the moment:
http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/laptops/0,39030093,49303769,00.htm

Not too keen on the Ferrari logo or the garish red lid, but I would buy one if I didn't already have a netbook.

Super hot deal.
#27
1.2 dual core-using mine right now-also has a dedicated graphics card, runs games like counter strike, battlefield 2,gta san andreas, world of warcraft ect no probs, haven't bothered with crysis though ;-) the price will be available for staff as well only restricted producst(off the top of my head are tobacco, lottery, petrol and discontinued items that scan at a penny)
#28
red hot

Add: This can playback HD video, stream HD video and can handle 'some' 3d gaming. It is a netbook with the power. I use it daily when I dont require my (beast) of a laptop. Im an architecture student and have a £3000 Rock machine for intensive usage, but with the One, I can still open files and edit CAD files, Photoshop, InDesign... I wouldn't work predominately off of it but it does allow basic editing of these files.

The keyboard is very tactile, very quiet, great little speakers, doesn't get hot.

It's one of my favourite 'toys'.

Any specifics, PM me and I'll try to get back with a response.

No where near the performance or a C2D i can assure you of that the x2 Athlon was murdered by the Intel in every way a 2ghz C2D was very fast as i had a E4400 when they came out and i also had an athlon x2 4600 and the C2D was as quick as there range topping 6000 model and the black edition and you are comparing there desktop cpus which are totally different to there laptop range the laptop ones are lower powered chips the C2D would be a centrino 2.

As for HD content my second laptop has a turion 64x2 with the same Nvidia graphics and it doesnt play HD content its stutters and sticks and this laptop has a 2ghz cpu with 2x ddr2 800 inside so more powerful in every way than this, for the money its a decent laptop compared to the Netbook it has a faster CPU and a bigger screen and then theres the branding but its still an Acer laptop with a sticker on
#33
I live in slough so mite go check this out :D
banned#34
who ever is interested in this needs to go out on a limb or two ;) and go down at midnight and report back asap
#35
Hmm. I might ring my local store at midnight! (but the phone lines close at 11pm! so ive missed this one.)

So, remove it

Built into the OS and yet to find a way to remove it without registry editing. That said, I have not gave it a great deal of time to find a work around. Im sure I can figure something out now I have more time. The inbuilt wallpaper is also mundane.
#37
Oh well, im givin it a go. off 2 tesco 2take a look......
