Acoustic noise from finepix s200exr

Received my s200exr after spotting the deal on here. Was just wondering if anyone else has one and if so is there a quiet fan like noise when the camera is in operation. Not the focusing noise but one that is constant. I have heard it may be the image stabiliser in the lens but when I switch this feature off the noise is still there. It only seems to disappear when I'm viewing photos on the LCD for a while. Any feedback would be appreciated, not sure if i've got a faulty unit. Thanks

It does sound like the image stabilisation system, on my Panasonic lenses even with the IS off you can still hear the whirring whereas the Nikon lenses which produce the same noise only do so for a short period after the IS is switched off.

Sounds to me like you may have the focus mode set on AF-C which is a continuous focus option. If this mode is anything like the S100fs then that would indeed explain the noise.

Below is the appropriate section from your manual and below that is a link to the whole manual in PDF which you may find handy to stick on your desktop rather than have to trawl through the paper manual.

Hope that solves the problem, let us know either way if you can.
