Too right - just because these guys get paid stupid money, doesn't mean they should be allowed to act like idiots. A fine won't do any good, barely even touch their beer money, so stop them playing.
#3
Shame thats all he is getting as to treat former colleagues like that and the team who gave you your big chance over her sucks
#4
I dont think he should be banned at all.

I dont think he should be banned at all.

i seriously did lol.
#6
he could have incited serious crowd trouble-one of the most irresponsible and stupid things I have ever seen done on a football pitch.

4 match ban seems fair to me.
#7
Difficult one. Can't say l like the bloke and his actions were very misguided but he took a lot of stick off the fans and Arsenal players don't forget. You can't prove the stamp was deliberate but his Forrest Gump run was not clever to say the least. I think a 3 match ban is enough.

Chances are he'll score a couple more goals then start resting on his laurels anyway. Then the City fans will hate him as much too.......
#8
Is that it? He should of gotten alot more time than just 4 games. He seems to forget how rubbish he was when he first moved over here, he was awful when he was alongside henry. It was at arsenal that he got good...
#9
wonder what will happen to the arsenal fans who threw stuff at him? standard now to give them life bans isnt it?

is that fair if he incited it and gets banned for a few games but still takes home his enormous pay packet. funny how these things are "a moment of madness" for a player but the end of the road for supporters.

True, true - these overpaid Premier League players get away with murder, and the fans are increasingly being shafted. Local league sport, you wouldn't get away with the stuff they do, believe me.
#11
Typical, city's best player get banned just in time for the manchester Derby!
#12
"moment of madness" - not really - had plenty of time whilst running down to think about it

Most players who score against their old clubs do not celebrate, showing a bit of class and respect

Adebayor was very dumb to do this and deserves to get a ban for inciting the crowd - let alone trying to take Van Persie's face off as well

Real shame, Man City get a great result and Adebayor has ruined the headlines for them - good business by Arsenal seeling the idiot

Turner scorred against Hull on saturday.
He was running to the Hull fans...but quickly changed his mind and switched to Sunderland.

LOL..... I'll post it so you can still see it! :w00t:

BTW - has he actually been banned? It just suggests he might expect to get a ban - not that he has.

probably, the stamp on Van Persie was worse though, he deserves a three games ban for that alone

and who fault is that apart from his own? He knows that he's got a big game coming up but still acts like a right prat and puts himself at risk of a ban.

Much worse than the celebration if you ask me, that was no accident.
#24
van persie was one of the best people to have stamped on, ady should be given a medal!
#25
scumbag adebayor is, that stamp on van persie was malicious and intended, 3 match ban is definatly not long enough

I think there is a line between provocation and actual incidents with intent to cause someone harm. He celebrated infront of them, boohoo, they launched missiles at him to cause him physical harm. Let's face it they were already gunning for him, there were a few chants about him, the game was never going to pass off smoothly.

On the contrary I saw some stuff about him on MOTD - like walking in the Arsenal half before kick off - what bizarre behaviour. Almost taking RVP's face off, and his celebration were both things he could have avoided, and now he's probably going to miss the biggest match so far with Man United. He couldn't have picked a worse time to get banned, so I hope he learns his lesson, somehow though, I don't think he will.

Do you think he cares? He's getting paid 170k A WEEK and that's the only reason he's there, to him the ban is just going to give him a few weeks break.

What I find odd is that Gary 'Chuckle' Neville ran up to the Scouse fans taunting and giving abuse when SOMEONE ELSE scored and got a 5 grand fine......

Now then, David Gill, Manchester United chief executive, who also happens to be a top man at the FA is to help decide whether Adebayor gets a ban in time for next weeks Derby............ What a 'king joke. Next to horse racing football is the most corrupt sport in the country and one day these people will all be held to account

I thought that too. Don't know how anyone can claim there was no intent in it, he lifts his left foot off the ground when he rakes Van Persies face with his studs.

Definite intent, it was a second movement and a retaliation to the VP tackle.
