You Need acrobat Pro not reader to edit the document to fewer pages.
You can choose to print the required pages only if this helps
#3
are you wanting to print certain pages ?

are you wanting to print certain pages ?

nope, just need snippets of info from certain pages - not the complete txt. I wanted to cut the odd parragraph and paste into word - im more comfortable using this.

The whole point of a pdf document is that data is enclosed within the file...therefore making editing very difficult...especially if you only want certain "snippetts".
It requires professional software to extract "items" within pages
can you do a screen grab and edit these? would be far easier

Tools, select & zoom
then select the arrow cursor

Maybe its cuz I have Office 07 then & its linked

Make sure you have the 'text selection tool' selected as opposed to the 'hand tool'.

tried that, lets me select the txt i want but still cant cut.

I'm confused as to why you need to cut, can't you just copy & paste into word ? then move or edit selections as needed
#12
sorry, cant copy either - its not a hilighted option

Go to File, Save As, then choose Save as text. You should be able to get the parts you need after that.

Just tried that too. Its not a hilighted option, just the "save a copy" is an option.

Gonna rep u guys for trying. Cheers

Adobe reader does not allow you to edit the text in the way that you are wanting it too.
Even Acrobat Pro would struggle to do this.
It also depends on the program that created the pdf in the 1st instance.
Was it saved as pdf...printed as pdf or taken through Acrobat Distiller?
In my experience..unless it is left as an editable file from the originator (very unsusual)
then there is no way of you copy and pasting selective text from within the pdf.
Find someone with Acrobat Pro even better if they have Pitstop Pro...ask them to do it

instead of cutting copy it then paste it and print

Download Foxit pdf Creator from here (under Other PDF Tools)
http://www.foxitsoftware.com/downloads/index.php

Open the document with Acrobat Reader

Select print & choose the foxit pdf printer

Select the print range (the pages you want)

Press ok and name the file your saving

Now you will have a new pdf file, but only the pages you want.

Hope it helps :)

Do you have any OCR software on your PC (with your scanner etc)? Just wondered how successful it would be to print the document out in decent quality & then scan it back in using OCR software so that you have a text version of the document that you could then edit. Haven't used any for a while & I've no idea how successful it is, but I know even my current printer/scanner comes with the software. Just a thought - very long shot one ;-)

EDIT - just realised your document is 600 pages long - obviously only any good if you have a low quantity of pages you need to copy text from :)
