Is it OK to connect an ADSL filter into another ADSL Filter?

Not really, why would you need to? Can cause too much capacitance on line
#2
Why would you want to do that ?. the first filter would take out the frequency at which bb operates.
The second would have no effect.

We are having problems with the connection. The router a 2700HGV has done about 11 DSL retrains today. We get BT messages in the browser to say there may be noise on the line.
I have an ADSL filter plugged into the 1st BT wall socket in the house. The RJ11 connecter goes to the 2700HGV. There is a 3 way adapter plugged into the remaining BT port on the filter, that feeds a 2 meter extension to a double wall socket which has a phone plugged into. A merchant services / credit card machine is also plugged into a port on the 3 way adapter in the ADSL filter.
Is that set up OK? As I understand it the single ADSL filter should filter the extension, the phone and the credit card machine, is that right?

We had a phone call with this set up yesterday and at the exact same moment the BT noise on the line / there is a problem with broadband message popped up in the browser. If I connect a secind adsl filter to the wall socket the phone is connected to the problem seems to improve but it's hard to be sure.

Do you use the line for ADSL only or do you use the voice side also? Plug a phone in listen for noise on the line crackly (usually), if you hear a noise on the line report it to your phoneline (not your ADSL) provider. Your set up sounds ok as everyting seems to be filtered. Have you tried the router in the test sokcet behind the NTE5 faceplate.

I've tried
4 or 5 different ADSL filters and a different cable to the moden.
#6
You checked the line for noise? have BT done a test on the line and confirmed there is no copper fault

My connection has been like that all today it is BT fn on as usual / bored pulling wires out on a random basis and having no idea where they pulled em from to put them back.

my area code is 01670 if you are in that area put your normal filter back on and complain again to ISP

Thanks for the offer paddy I know how to maintain my network / adsl line and what to do I just wish bt would invest some money into replacing Blyth's infrastructure with some copper instead of high content aluminium and openreach would stop messing on trying to fix stuff they don't understand and then denying they were ever there :lol

I am under 2km from exchange as crow flies .

Line length is longer than that though and att 56 db

It is OK at minute sort of synced @ 2720 with snr 10 which is rather low and usually is around 13 - 14 at that sync rate.

It's been worse but was a lot better when I first got max after the 10 days passed (actually it was more than 10 days initially as I got max dsl ages ago when it was first rolled out and they were having troubel with bra's dlsams etc and for the first 11 months was getting a very steady 3776 sync rate and maybe 2 or 3 retrains a month and no crc fec hec etc then after a visit by openreach bout 1 to 2 year ago to a neighbouring property and although cable pair swapping was stopped within 2 minutes of O-R leaving that house my line was only capable of 1mbps and lots of disconnects etc and has been rather stuffed since speaking to that neighbour they are well impressed with their 3.5 meg line

It could be a lot worse though (28k a second) and I got my 287k a second download speed back most of the time after a lot of complaining but it blips every now and again and no one knows why (sometime for 6 months it stinks) not really weather related either kept a diary very hard to diagnose like a squeaky car :)

Your not far from the exchange then, you get noise on your phoneline?

not really, used to get these horrible clunks/ loud clicks etc but those seemed to have stopped.

I just picked up the phone again and listened to line tiny bit of hash then did quiet line test and seems fine.

Wish I was closer to exchange though as line goes on quite a journey from mine before it gets close to exchange

Knock your line out of synch, (unplug your router whatever) then get it to train back up, listen to the line. Tell me if you hear anything. I suspect the line is HR.

no more noisy than whilst dsl as active and usual I just tried I'm synced at 3296 now but noise margin 5.8 so a resync is imminent :lol

Bet my son is gutted if he was playing cod4 and just about to prestige again with me pulling rj11

Sorry! Try and get another engineer out, and ask him to do an end to end test. That'll check the line for everything that remote testers can't see

I will if it cripples itself again and I end up with 52k or less a second but for the time being I'm OK, just yesterday or the day before I had loads of reboots and snr was rather low even though I was synced quite low as well that's hwo it starts lol and then it gets worse and worse until I feel like unravelling the whole of the line to the exchange LMAO or chucking some termites onto telegraph pole outside.

Thanks
#26
We only get 2hrs on standard adsl faults to sort out the problem, hence why alot of people have repaet visits.

yeah I know, a couple of them mentioned that, there have been a few here none left though #LOL

and 2976 now 6.3 snr probs another sync little lower say back to 2752 and 10 snr in an hours time if that, then should settle for a few days then go back up and be fine for a week.
