OK. I'm taking my gf and all our kids away for our 1st holiday abroad together this summer (8 of us).
Her kids have never been abroad before so i want it to be special.
I've been looking for the holiday since the beginning of the year (but didn't have money to book it then).
The prices have actually DOUBLED since then and now seem to be at their highest!

We're going to Ayia Napa in Cyprus and are gonna go the last week in August (25th) for 1 week as the kids rae back to school on the 2nd september (so we cant have a late flight back either).

Having done my research, we've decided to stay at the Anesis hotel due to its location and reviews on sites like tripadvisor (it's number 9 of 104 hotels in napa).
My problem is that do i hope the prices drop and wait until what they call last minute (8 weeks or so before we go) but risk the seats on the flights going or the hotel getting booked up or do i book now at the inflated price??
At the moment i'm looking at just over £500pp for bed and breakfast!

I've tried Thomas Cook, Thomson, Olympic, Sun4udirect, Beach Collection, Teletext, On the beach, Travel Republic, Sunshine, Holiday discount centre etc but this is the cheapest i've found at the moment.

Anybody know any other good companies to try?

Rep for your help.
Cheers

Ever thought of hiring a villa with a pool?...no crowds...no time restraints on eating ...and no bloomin germans hogging the pool, could save you a fortune especially if you can get a cheap deal on flights - try Travelzoo?

No can't take the kids out or start late as 2 of them are moving to new schools and i don't want them to miss out.

Keep the ideas coming.

Does it have to be Ayia Napa? Would anywhere else be no good? We went to Majorca for our first "joint" family holiday (6 of us). Stayed at the Marina Torrenova and had a ball. I've done a link below and you can get a week for around £430 each half board (dinner bed breakfast) or around £500 for all inclusive. Its a fab hotel and really caters for kids and teenagers (Thomsons clubs etc). Food was excellent and its in Palma Nova which is really nice.

PS link seems to be too long but try Thomsons website!

Thanks for that (rep'd).
Yes, we want to go to Ayia Napa as i know it like the back of my hand and as we're only going for a week, it'll be handy to know everywhere and everything already. Plus the kids have heard us talking all about Napa and really wanna go there.

majorca would probably be half the price.

note that cyprus is incredibly expensive now. everything seems to have doubled since they joined the EU.

I must admit i was worried about the price of things when i went last year but it wasn't too bad.
I ate at my favourite restaurant (Los Bandidos) and a huge steak with all the trimmings was 12 euros.
At my 2nd fave restaurant Clarabells, i got a 3 course meal for under 10 euros.
I think it's just like anywhere. You can go and spend £25 on a steak or get 1 for under £10. You just have to know where to go.
Same thing with the beer. A lot of places had happy hours and i regularly got a beer for 2 euros which is even cheaper than here.

Just a shame that i can't seem to do anything about lowering the actual cost of the holiday :(
