Advice needed for a price! Wii + games £300.00 ?!

Hi
Recently I've been contacting with a guy who's selling a modded wii with 100+ games, 2 controllers, num chucks for 300 quids. It was told to be bought from Indonesia and used only several times.
What price do you think would be good for that batch? Any advice would be much appreciated.

numchuck not num sorry :P

if hes selling a modded wii with 100 games, that means hes downloaded them and he doesn't actually have the game discs... well at least not genuine ones
#2
yes I know so what price do you think I should offer him?
#3
should this be in the for sale forum??????

I wouldn't pay that much. The 'back up' games only have the value that you give them because they obviously are only useful with the modded wii. And is it a UK PAL Wii? If you don't mind a JAP Wii I can do one for nearly half that price for you with one controller...

6 months ago i payed 350 for my modded wii with 30+ games and all the extras.. so i think not a bad price..

about £200-250

I'm like knowing nothing about Wii. What's the different between two kind of controls?

If you wanted to go that route you would be better getting a new Wii and getting it modded as you would have some kind of warranty from the modders. Don't be pursuaded by the games as effectively they are worthless and only worth the price of the discs. Also you need to check what Mod chip it has, It will probalby be the WiiKey which is the worst to get at the moment for updates. The console will probably be a NTSCJ as well so will be japanese language

I want one like tomorrow so really don't want to think about buying then do stuff with it. anyway how long does it take to do so?

Most places will do the mod and return in about 3 days. The main problem is £300 is a lot to pay to effectively have no warranty, as i asume the seller won't give you any. Also if you do not know what you are doing you could "brick" the console by applying wrong updates etc.

The language on the Wii menus are in Japanese (katakana) but the games are all NTSC USA -so in English

edit: oh right, controls? I have one wiimote and one nunchuck

Nope. As long as you can navigate your way around (pretty easy, as they are exact copies of the english menu's and there are online guides - anyway in a couple of days you know them all). BUT, you can't play regular PAL games on it so it's only really useful to you if you are going to stick to the copied discs. Every else is exactly the same as a UK Wii though, inclusing a UK charger - you can't change the menus to English though

£200-£220 max. The 'games' are worthless.

They are actually very boring after the first bout of wii sports. Ours is just a dust collector in the corner.

I wouldn't say the games are worthless. How long would it take to download a game assuming your ISP would allow it? Times that by 100 and it's a lot of downloading. You wouldn't want 100 games anyway though.

However, I agree with a previous poster. The cheapest option is probably to buy a little used older Wii which is more easily and cheaply chipped (can get done for about £35 including postage). Alternatively buy a new Wii and either get it modded professionally or if you are okay with opening up the Wii buy a chip and clip so you don't need to do any soldering (and can remove if it has to go back under warranty).

EDIT : Modding a new Wii will cost more than £35 if done professionally. They need different chips which are more expensive and need more soldering.

CSIMan - if your Wii is gathering dust why not sell it? Or is it just the Sports that is?

Worthless as in selling on value is what I meant.

My Wii gets used about once every 6 months and not really worth selling on IMHO as sports is fun when its played. Every other games (except family ski) are just for kiddies so just cant get into them (tried all the top games from lovefilm).

I know what you mean. I think it is more fun with more people. I have been testing some backups to make sure they work and really can't get into them...but to my surprise the last one I tried was Resident Evil 4 and to my surprise I started playing it. Have you tried that?

As for the OP. It's what it is worth to you. If you want one NOW then I guess it is your only option... but I would recommend holding fire, get a PAL Wii and get a chip you know works and is likely to get supported.

Yeah - tried resident evil but thought the graphics and control system were awful. I have a ps3 so hard to go from cod4 etc back in time 10 years graphically etc. I did have the game on the gamecube and thought it was good then but it doesnt seem to have moved on since then on the wii (just a bad port I suppose).

playing battlefield bad company at the mo. Superb!

Sounds to me like you need to see a Wii in action before you even think about spending £300. The Wii has the novelty of the remote controls, Wii Fit etc. The PS3 and XBox are higher powered in terms of graphics. I am not a gamer at all... just what I gather from reading.

graphics are on a par with the xbox1 id say so are nothing flash, ive used my wii prob 3-4 times theres nothing good on it , wii sports now and again is ok, thats about it. personally id wait for the xbox 360 price drops and brand new wii style remote that is coming out for it, then you will get the novelty AND the graphics
#28
yeah I'd prefer ps3 60gb with games but it'd cost like 500-600 quids and that's not good for my budget. Anyway sounds like wii is a family entertaining thing which is what I need at the moment.

thanks everyone for your comments. after all I've decided to go buy and sell it later. might be a small loss though

Nintendo Wii 2nd hand comes with 5 games;
smash bros (limited ed)
wacky racers
beach sports
wii sports
Raynman 2

2 remotes, 2 nun chucks

How much do you think it worth to buy?
