Advice needed for recycling an iPhone 3G 8gb Cracked screen

Hey guys
I done a search online to compare prices for recycling my iphone (saving for the new one) and the prices arent bad. The only thing is, the phone has a crack on the front of the screen at the bottom right side. I dropped it quite heavily and it is a bit smashed at the bottom left of the phone beside the push-in button. The smashed bit has then got a hairline crack going from there to the right hand side of the phone, about 3cm's long, but does not affect the touchscreen capability at all.

Basically the phone is fully functioning about from this god dam ugly crack - my question is, will these recycling companies give me a decent price for it?
Thanks

When I recycled my Viewty, it had got a scratch on the screen and they dropped the price by £20. So in answer to your question, don't know.;-)

The highest listed price given was £175
but with my crack i dunno what I would get but I'm thinking £140 or near would be a good price if I was lucky
the hairline crack isn't even that bad, it is at the bottom
maybe if I put a pic up you could give an honest opinion?thanks

Why don't you try listing on ebay? I'm sure you will get more for it on there? :)

To be honest I've had problems with ebaying, so many headaches selling on it with all the conmen and awkwardness basically lol
I'm thinking the recycling will b quick n hassle free and prob close to what I'm going to get offered anyway
although not sure what the value is of this phone

I remember hearing that if your iphone had a cracked screen and you take it to the Apple geniuses then for a fee (it was something like £150 or £175) they will swap it for a new one. Maybe you should look into that.

Edit: Look here: http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/644719/out-of-warranty-replacement-iphone- £139, worth going to an Apple store and booking an appointment with a genius if you have a store in town.

Yeah they give u a new screen, but I think that's a crazy price to pay, I'm looking to get the iPhone 4, bored with this one

If you get it fixed and then sell it you'll probably get a better deal than selling it broken.

Maybe phone someone like these guys :http://www.iphone-repairs.co.uk/repairs.html and get a quote for a repair. I hope you get it all sorted and like your 4G phone :)

Hey sickly sweet
thanks for the link - don't think I'll get it repaired though, looking more of a quick sale tbh, can't wait to get new iPhone if I am lucky enough, can see them being sold out in minutes!!!

http://www.mazumamobile.com/sell_mobile_phone.php?action=view&prod=1179

But they don't give you the option to say there is anything wrong with the phone, they just take the money off and send you the cheque with a letter. Don't recommend them.

The toggle top right is set as the phone isn't in working order, so those are the quotes for if the phone doesn't work.
