as far as i am aware you should be alright to take your laptop with you, I took my psp in with me last year and that was allowed, this is the software that I use to convert the films for putting on my iphone hope this helps

You can plug in chargers dvd players laptop etc they just need to do a quick test on the equiptment but most don't bother and just let you get on with it but remember they take no responsibility if anything is stolen or damaged. to be honest i wouldnt take my laptop in stick to the ipod or get a cheap portable dvd player.
Good luck with your op i had mine nearly 2 weeks ago and i can't wait until tomorrow when i can finally wash my hair now the stapples are out.

I have been in a few times recently. With the exception of areas where people are hooked up to sensitive monitoring equipment they are pretty laid back. You can use mobiles in certain places now.
I saw someone who took a laptop in so again shouldnt have a problem at least for playing DVDs. Wont be able to surf though unless you find a dedicated area in the hospital.

it'll be fine, just find a nice nurse to stash your laptop somewhere for you.

i have intercranial hypertension too much spinal fluid and had a shunt replaced that drains it away from my head to my heart.
What you having done? and where?
Anesthetic for neurosurgery is the best it's like the best nights sleep ever.
If you ever want to chat give me a shout i am kinda used to it all and was excited about my surgery but can remember the 1st time also have a list of support forums etc for neurological conditions
