For specific answers you probably need to speak to the tour operators.

Drinks are not cheap.

Usually most restuarants are free with the exception of 1 or 2. As above check with tour operator to check

You wont need to pay for any food, all your food requirements are taken care of in the price. On the bigger cruise liners they serve food 24 hours a day, buffets and pizza throughout the night, for those doing all night casino :w00t:

The drinks you do need to pay for and these are slightly inflated on US prices, but compared to prices over here they are reasonable.

The big stinger, and is highly frowned upon if you dont participate, is that you are required to pay 'tips' for the week to your waiter, the chef, the woman that comes into your room and makes animals out of your towels, and the bar staff. These can amount easily for the week to $200

as said its breakfast, lunch and dinner, also usually a free eveing meal say once per your holiday at one of the posher ones maybe, as said drinks can be pricey as can anything else you want to buy, best bet is to contact the company so you know exactly what you will be getting and what you will need to pay for

Its up to you how much you give, but I went with virgin also, and they included a $150 voucher for tips that the waiter could cash in. I then gave $50 to the turn down lady, $50 to the head waiter, $50 to the chef, and a further $20 on top for my waiter :w00t: This was around what the americans were giving at the time. The thing is they get given accomodation on the boat, and their whole income comes from the tips, its expected that you therefore tip well.

I have to say though my waiter was still put out that he ONLY got $170 from me. I felt I had given generously, still it was last night and didn't give a stuff

If you ask virgin after you have booked, they allow you to buy the prepaid vouchers, and just stick to your guns
