I've convinced my mum and dad to upgrade their TV and they bought the Toshiba 42XV503DB for £700 from Amazon.
I popped round to see them last night and saw the telly for the first time and it's a very nice set, but there seems to be a problem with the sound.
When cranking up the sound (especially when playing DVD's, which tend to be quieter), the sound becomes distorted on background noises and music (not voices). The distortion starts when the volume is over 40.
I've tried reducing and turning the bass/subwoofer completely and playing around with the sound settings but this hasn't had any effect.
Have any Tosh owners encountered this or even owners of other manufacturers?
