Advice on Calais

Have just booked a day trip out to Calais by ferry as foot passengers.
When you board off does anyone know how to get to a main shopping area.Is there a bus station any specific info be great.I'm quite happy walking if its 15mins or so,are there plenty of clear sign posts.I've looked on a few sites but nothing or maybe not looked right, seems more info for those who have got a car on how to get to shopping areas.
Am going with my children for something to do for the day, think they really enjoy the ferry crossing over so worth £12 for 3 of us for that part as they not been on ferry before.
Any help be appreciated with regards to best shopping area/centre - gifts, clothing etc. I'm also not after going to Auchan as they mainly sell food checked their site,I'm not interested in buying food wine etc.
I have about 7 or so hours before I need to head back.

The main place is Cite Europe but it is not walkable as it is on the motorway. I am sure there is a bus service or maybe a taxi could get you there. Have a look at this and you will find out loads about Cite Europe here, of course most of France closes down on a Sunday so I hope you are not travelling then :-(

This is the bus details to get you there, don't forget the clocks are a hour more over there so be careful that you get back to the ferry port in time -
by bus:
line 5, Calais Centre Ville (Town Centre) – Frethun TGV railway station
bus stop: Cité Europe
entrance: Porte d’Allemagne

This leaves you in the lower section of the centre where you will find all the car drivers using the upper levels, also all the doors are clearly sign posted. It's a great place with loads to do, Toys-R-Us, cinema, eateries if you like pizza or pasta or fish etc and loads of different shops.

There are a few closer supermarkets but they all seem like a problem to get to without a car and they only consist of a few shops, a bit like your local shopping area in a housing estate here.

Anyone know of any good deals to take your car across at the moment? I'm not sure I could get as much beer as I need as a footpassenger... usually manage to get a deal for 19.99 at least a couple of times a year... could be ferry or chunnel - not bothered.
Thanks

Tunnel is 69 quid at the moment, bit too much. Got some deals and offers on the notice board in the canteen, will have a look for you at breaktime :giggle:
