Hi just needs some advice from fellow HDUK ers.

I want to import leather goods like jackets and gloves etc, from Asia mainly china India and Pakistan.

Just want to know will i need a license, what are the DOs AND DON'Ts. what are the cost involved any help would be appreciated

No license need, All you need is a Commodity code for the items you import, this will tell customs what rate of duty and import tax you pay.
When you import you need to pay customs before your goods are release so make sure your goods are what you ordered before hand and not paying a large sum for duty only to find out the goods are not as expected.

Just another note on the leather.....
In the far east you can get a leather product that is in fact fake, everything looks, feels and even smells the same as real leather but what it is, is a material that is sprayed with extremely fine ground reject leather mixed with water. It does not have the same strengths as real leather.
