They do take a bit of time to get use to and they do make the bed hotter during summer... but they are well worth it if your bones aint what they used to be or you suffer from bad back etc... or in general no matter how old/decreped you are they give you a better nights sleep. I just changed my mattress coz of back problems to a silentnight mattress with mem foam and its the best thing i ever done.

best advice is-dont buy cheap and nasty, which I suspect many on ebay are-they do make a huge difference to your comfort but get a good brand.

like I said,tj hughes have great deals on silentnights atm-not sure if they operate outside scotland or not tho.

I bought one because my mattress was too firm and I love it. But if your mattress is sagging now it will still sag with a topper.
I would echo the above advice, don't buy a cheap one.

Hi
I bought two single memory foam mattress toppers from Ebay for my children beds and they are very comfy and given the quality of comfort for the price is vry good value too.
They were new and delivered all sqashed (vacumeed) so quite a small package like a duvet in supermaket size, but when you take it out and live it for few hours it comes back to its proper size.
I bought them because the kids had two cheap mattresses and could feel the springs even with their feather weight, and could not afford two new beds at the time but with these toppers even and adult can sleep comfortably without feeling the springs.
A couple of things I would mention though is that they are / cn get quite warm in summer and that they absorb a lot of dust so I would suggest a mattress cover underneath the lower sheet!

I'm very tempted to get the king size silent night topper from TJ Hughes, only £70. Would have got it the other day but hands where full from shopping.

My beds quite comfy already and I'm young with no back problems so would it still be worth it?

Also is 3cm depth thick enough?

We have a mattress topper and cant recommend enough, as said before they make the cheapest mattress really comfortable, I used to love our mattress and topper but we had to get a more expensive firmer mattress cos the OH was having back and shoulder problems because was too soft (I thought it was heaven.

If you have posture or joint problems however a mattress topper will not benefit you because it may make the bed too soft, you should really get a foam mattress

oooo dust collection would be bad as im allergic to dust.
We have an expensive bed and its 2 yrs old. I cant see the other half having 1 if they are hot in summer, he sleeps at night with the fan blasting now, and im under the duvet cos its cold.

They don't get bed bugs or dust mites in the material. So only surface dust, which could be wiped off or if you get a cover for it then easily removed.
