Im gona regret saying this but ive had 5 different LCD screens and all had various p[roblems from high pitch wines to pixelated picture for SD signals. SO i looked at plasma and found that for SD images plasma will give you a better picture but for HD signals go for a plasma full HD.....that is unless you can afford the plasma full HD screens.

As for how long they last.....i dont plan on keeping them much longer that 5 years and they both will last much longer than that.......

Best go to your local currys with a portable media player and judge for yourself.

We have the 50" version of this TV and am really impressed with it. Don''t regret it one bit, and got it at a bargain £735 with a dvd upscaler and 5.1 surround sound system.

One things I don't like is how fast dust is attracted to the gloss finish bezel.

Other than that its great.

And as for the LCD V Plasma debate, there are so many variables involved, you can't say one is better than the other easily. Go down to your local currys/comet etc and have a look, but don't compare them side by side unless they are showing the same images. Also bear in mind that people fiddle with the brightness and contrast so even that's not a fair comparison, but you will get an idea.
