Sit her down with the Argos catalogue and a marker pen and get her to circle things that she likes the look of (I used to love doing this at Christmas) has she got ipod? nintendo DS? (loads of girly games available for it)

A wholesome idea coming up... Why not adopt an animal at a zoo near you, or elsewhere if you don't like zoos! I adopted a meerkat at London Zoo when I was younger, you got a little plaque with your name on that's put on their enclosure etc. Just had a look at you can adopt from like £30 a year I think it is. Then you can go there and she'll enjoy seeing "her" animal!
Not everyone's cup of tea as not everyone likes zoos, but just a thought.

how about a small fish tank with goldfish or some coldwater fish that she can look.

what about her own video camera, you can get them cheap and simple to use, SD card model so no films or discs to buy. then encourage her to be creative with it.

Wish i could help, but i am really struggling for ideas for my two tbh , girl of 10 and boy of 6, as they have everything already oO.......makes them sound spoilt , there not, but they have a very generous nanna & grandad , theyve got all the consoles, laptops, cameras, bikes, scooters ! aaah, its driving me mad thinking of things !
Btw, as they get all year round from grandparents, last year they only bought them a couple of things and then donated £200 to the 'smile train' ( kids born with cleft palats etc ) on behalf of them and they both recieved a picture of a little girl ( before/after ) and a personal message , and a certificare saying '' blah helped pay for an operation for blah , and she can now smile '' and both my kids were thrilled to do this !
