Hi,

im currently in needs of 5-10 rechargeable NiMH batteries for my bluetooth keyboard + mouse. unfortunately, the nearest lidl didnt stock the £1.99 Tronic batteries posted here.

So I have to turn to eb*y and found these ridiculously cheap 2600mah AA batteries: http://tinyurl.com/5dpav8

Anyone here has used these batteries before? Would you please comment if they are good or fake?

Any help will be appreaciated

thanks

Bought that brand before, they were ok, not as good as uniross etc. Bought from ledshoppe I think, price from ebay is nothing special when postage is included.

consider some of the new hybrio batteries, i've had some for a couple of months now and impressions are very good.

I bought some of those BTY batteries before, and they were absolutely useless. I was also using them for my wireless keyboard and mouse, and when fully charged they showed up as being only at 60% according to my computer. They lost their charge very quickly, and I had to charge them every two weeks or so. I suspect that they actually lose their charge faster than the mouse and keyboard use it.

I've since bought some Sanyo Eneloop batteries, and they're infinitely better. They last months and months, I can't remember the last time I swapped them. They are on the expensive side, but it's definitely worth the extra expenditure. I believe Hybrio batteries are a similar product, but I think they're a bit more widely available, so you can probably find them cheaper.

I would suspect BTY are dubious for the following reasons.

They sell a 1350mAh AAA - which is way beyond the capacity anyone else has managed.

When six of these batteries were tested by a buyer from Deal Extreme - the capacities were found to be....

650, 762, 751, 748, 799, and 574mAh - with other purchasers guessing the capacity as 700mAh.

Ebay is a great way of shifting forged, fake, and dodgy kit.

I would rather go for the 12 older spec batteries from Maplin for a tenner, as you know they are likely to be the spec they claim, and I have little doubt that the higher the capacity of the newer rechargeables the faster they will self drain.
