I saw a great deal on here for a 10FT swimming pool from woolworths

http://hotukdeals.com/item/233302/10ft-simple-set-pool-15-free-del

So i decided to order one ready for next year, fingers crossed we get better weather than this year. While i was out yesterday they delivered me my item & got my step-son (14 years old to sign for it). I never even had a email to say is had been dispatched.

Yesterday evening i had a email to say it had been dispatched an i just though that i had got the email a bit late. But surprise, surprise, i had a knock on the door today & it was a courier delivering me another swimming pool.

Iv checked the bank a few times to day & they have only billed me for one of the pools, So what do i do now.

1, call them & see what they say.
2, Just keep my mouth shut & say nothing.

But if i say nothing & they realizse what they have done in a few week's or months can they bill me for the 2nd item or ask for it back?

Tell them and feel good about being honest.

keep it.its there mistake

similar thing happened before. Hang on to it for a few weeks and see what happens. if they dont ask for it back, keep it. If they do come looking for it, give it back and ask for some reward for not opening it ;-)

I agree. I know it's tempting, but ...

Maybe treated as unsolicited goods and not be recoverable by them, if it was me, I'd stash it away until we get some good weather and then ebay it :-D Aren't I naughty!!!
#6
Or gift it to me (I will pay postage), so you feel good, the company doesnt know & I will give you feedback, Rep & loads of best wishes!!!

Now I am being honest..

Unsolicited Goods...a brief description
Goods sent to a person who has not requested them. The person receiving the goods does not have to pay for them. After 6 months the goods become the property of the person who received them. If the receiving party contacts the sender and asks for the goods to be picked up (and they are not), the receiving party becomes the owner of the goods after 30 days. Before the receiving party becomes the owner they must look after the goods and not dispose of them.

see id want to keep it like people have sed, but then id feel bad i bet.. even tho i doubt they will even ever know that theyve sent out two... i guess just keep quiet about it for awhile and see. its a big item however, if u dont need/want it etc you could always ring them up. otherwise wait a while n sell it on perhaps.

are you sure its another pool and not part of the 1st one? dont they come with a filter as well?
#11
Keep it unopened for a few months in a garage or something, if they don't come back for it --- it's all yours :)

Don't worry about being honest, im sure they make plenty of money anyway! :)

Im sort of thinking the same thing especially if i keep it untill next year & woolworths start selling it again at the full RRP of £100 put it on ebay for roughly £40 make a nice little profit:)

Yeah it dose come with a filter, that did cross my mind earlier 2day, so i open one of the boxes just to make sure & everything you need is in just one box

Well I can guarantee with the weather we are having, it will never be 100£
#15
If you change your mind, I am very much ready to accept it :-D
#16
I feel an ebay sale coming on.
#17
Keep it chick. Tis their fault after all.
#18
The same happened to me but with Comet/Currys

Ordered three items for presents but decided I did not want them anymore.

Rang up before the status said dispatched and got a full refund.

Few days later, all three arrived so I rang back after a day or two and they said they'll send out returns label.

Waited two weeks, recieved nothing so I rang up again and they said they would follow it up for me.

So I thought I'd leave it to them and something should arrive so I can return the items.

Heard nothing from them in 2/3 months so sold them all on

Well it wont be £100 this year, you never know it might be next year

I will keep you in mined if i decide to get rid of it,

My other option is just to keep it for myself with kids being kids & iv got 5 of them + if they have there mates around in the pool when we have the weather for it. It wouldn't surprise me if they brake part of it. Yeah the pool dose come with a puncture kit so i can repair part of it but that wont fix it all.

But since MrGrumpyman has said i can keep the item for 6months then it becomes mine, i think il end up doing that & just store the box in the back of the shed for now

Thanks for everyone's opinion on this :)

Ticketmaster gave a me a spare ticket to a gig once, i ordered 2 and got 3, thats not my fault though and I gave it gratis to a friend :)
#21

Actually they're making **** all at the moment :whistling:

However that's not your concern, in fact you'd be saving them money by keeping it, I'm sure it would cost them more than it's worth to collect it and process it etc.

Now THAT is a good idea of how to do deal with these things

And good on you getting one over on littlewoods

People always complain about dishonesty and the state of society at the moment, then openly say that because it is their mistake, you should no inform them and keep quiet and take something which is not your item to have? Crazy.
#25
Put a sign in your window saying 'Mistakes cannot be rectified once you have left the premises'
#26
I'd send the original one back for a refund.

If the worst comes to the worst you will just have to pay for it, if not it's a free pool:thumbsup:
#27
keep quiet. flog the other on here!!!!

Does this mean I can send an elephant to someone and they have to look after it for 6 months for me? Then I pick it up and it's been fed for the last 6 months for free?

Personally I'd keep the pool, maybe open it next summer and then the 6 months is up anyway,
[mod]#30
I say return it. You have one (which you ordered).
Personally, and some people find this hard to comprehend, I would always return it.

Well, you could return one of them and say you changed your mind and get a refund - and then enjoy your free gift!

Or use both and have one for you and one for the kids!
#37
I doubt very much that you could treat the pool as 'unsolicited goods', the fact is you DID request a pool but two were sent in error. This is not the same as goods turning up unexpectedly on your doorstep from out of nowhere.

(But I'd still be tempted to 'look after' the second pool:whistling:)
