Advice: Vista Ultimate / 30 GB Ipod

Hi,

I'm looking for some advice on selling the following items.

Windows Vista Ultimate DVD (Not upgrade or OEM, Top Package)
Ipod Video 30 GB Black

I won both of them last week at the Barcelona Microsoft Tech Ed, hit a good streak. Both are still plastic sealed and brand new. Who would have thought both Limbo and coding skills can get you great swag! :-D

Basically, I'm looking for advice on how much I can expect to get for both of them and whether selling on here or somewhere else is the best way to go? I checked PC world for both items, Vista is £330 and Ipod is £150. Is Ebay the best approach, looking to get a decent return to buy an Ipod Touch.

Thanks,

Brian.

Oh, should probably have mentioned that I would also be selling my Ipod Nano 4gb used as well if that makes a difference.

yeh the ipod is not the new one so therefore it will be less than £100 probably ;-)

Yeah, I realised the Ipod Video is one generation out but still retails everywhere for about £140-£150. Do you think I could get £100 to £110 for it on here or ebay?

Not sure tbh sorry

Ok, thanks. I reckon I'll take the photos and try posting a for sale post in here to see what people are willing to pay. If no reasonable offers then I'll go to ebay.

If anyone is interested then let me know, I'll make a proper sale post to go with each item.

Cheers.

Nah, no chance at that price. £159 for a new iPod 80GB Classic on Apple's site. The 30GB will be worth more like £90.

Why didn't they give you a Zune at a Microsoft conference?

I never won it from Microsoft. I had to write the best code in the shortest time using an API product from one of the exhibitors. It was weird, there was very little Microsoft promotional items to grab, all the competitions were from the vendors trying to attract interest with ipods and wii.

Genuinely looking to sell but wanted to get some feedback on the best way to do it and what kind of value to expect. If anyone is interested then post here and I'll then create a new for sale forum thread with all the standard descriptions and photos etc.

If you move it to Misc then people intersted in buying will not see it to let me know? Leave it on FSTW for a few hours?

You won't get anything near £300 for Vista on here. I picked up Vista premium for less than £40 at eBuyer.
My guess, £110 for Vista and £95 for the iPod.

If you want the best price, it has to be ebay. this site has a limited amount of members compared to ebay. You could shift all three for an ipod touch easily. I'm sure you have already had some PM's from people on here:giggle:

Yeah but those versions are OEM. They can't be moved from machine to machine, come in either 32 or 64 bit seperately and have no support. Plus this is also the top package vista which has business features such as bit drive encryption. I'm hoping for £160 for Vista and £110 for the ipod. How much are used 4GB Nanos selling for now?
