Advice Wanted: Car

Hello all

I have a 1997 Ford Fiesta, 91000 miles, 1.3 that I want to get rid of.

It needs about £400 worth of work to suspension, exhaust, brakes and gears,
which, quite frankly, I can't afford.

Its MOT is due in a month, which I'm almost certain it won't pass.

Any advice on how I get rid of this car?

Preferably for a tiny bit of cash, but really don't know what my options are!

Thanks a lot,

David

ebay, but make sure you get payment first (not winning the auction to just have a look...) Someone will have it off you. Make sure you put a very accurate description to ensure no timewasters.

Thanks s. Lurker

I've never used Ebay motors before, but sounds like a good option. Any particular hints?

Wait for a free motors listing day or a 5p listing day, Because the final value fee and an insert fee will cost a fortune!

Why not use the car as a full deposit :? May get more for your money then.... HTH

EDIT - This would be useful if you was buying a new car at the same time

david me old mucker!
im doing this shortly with my punto which is a wreck

to do this you need:
some tools
a drive and a garage
and a understanding missus
some tools

i am going to put the car in the garage and get another and keep that on the drive

i will advertise parts on fiat/punto forums and ebay and let people come and take what they need

example
bonnet - £20-50
boot 50 with glass
doors £15 each (4 door)
wheels with tires - 10-15 each (5 wheels)
clutch/gearbox what ever i can get
mats - 5er
seats £5-10
engine - 50 quid

give it a few months and the entire car will be gone

get a couple of hundred easily - then phone someone from the local paper to take it away for free
(the crucial bit is that the wheels go LAST
