Advice Wanted - Re: Use of Flash Drives

Hi All - just a quicky if anyone knows:

Hubby has a notebook and I wanted to get him a 32gb flashdrive to boost the memory for when he downloads his music. If I buy one does that mean that when it's plugged into his notebook he can download straight onto the device or does the notebook have to have a certain capacity? Sorry I know this is probably a really simple thing - but I don't have a clue and it doens't tell you their specs!!!

Thanks for any help and rep of course given - Debs

He can download direct to USB device - although, maybe not from itunes. The PC user decides where downloads go.

In general you won't actually be boosting the memory for when he downloads, you will be just boosting storage capacity. You could set the downloads to go straight onto the flash drive if you wish rather than just downloading to the computer hard disc drive.

you could get him an SD card that goes in the side of his netbook (if it has an SD slot)

that way it wont stick out and so it will always be connected.

sd cards are also slightly cheaper than usb sticks, smaller, and can use in your camera

an sd-usb reader is less than a pound too, in case you need one

I no longer buy usb sticks, just sd cards
