Try a higher burn speed, 2.2 seems a bit low. Also make sure your using reliable media.

ok is imgburn fine to use?
#6
Yeah, a lot of people use it.
#7
I was under the impressions the slower the write speed, the better the copy. i.e less data loss.

Yeah, 2.4x - 4x - I believe. The OP said 2.2 though, which I am not even sure is possible. The disc should really work at 4x or 2.4x though.

It could be completely media related, I do not know which is the best to use for the 360 but google has a wealth of answers.

I use imgburn and set it to 2.4x, nver had any problems and i use the cheaper aone discs
#10
i havent changed any settings in imgburn, should i be changing any of the settings before burning the game?
#11
Make sure you set the layerbreak to 1913760 in the write mode settings.

you need to alter the settings on the dual layer break, there is a guide here:

I always burn at 2.4x with Imgburn, you have to change book type to DVD-ROM and select the .dvd file not the ISO, so the layer break is correct.

Click on the book icon on the bottom right, also if you have .dvd file you don't need to worry about setting layer break manuallly.

my hitachi drive isnt under the list when i click on that icon :(

the only discs I would recommend you use are verbatims

why? aone's work just as well in my experience, i've had none fail yet
#20
Do not alter ImgBurn write settings or any other settings, chances are your Hitachi will auto booktype with ImgBurn and use verbatim 2.4x MKM-001-00 and burn at 2.4x the lowest for +media. if you have to use aone disc's then try 2.4x. 4x and any other (BTW you need to have a modded 360 for it to play backup media)

Then get a new burner a pioneer 215 or 216 and some Verbatim MKM-001-00

What is model number of your hitachi writer post the log file from ImgBurn or pm me it
#21
i use the aone disks, very cheap burn at 8 speed. i have a pioneer 110/111d latest firmware works a treat. close down any programs you dont need and try agian. could just be abad disk.
#22
how do i find the latest firmware for my hitachi dual layer drive?

model number is -HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH15F ATA DEVICE

cant find it anywhere on google :(

Then there is none or hardly likely to be any

It's 99% chance your drive doesn't like aones. Many don't, I know plenty of people say they work fine but it seems that it's drive dependant. My hitachi hates them, not to mention the new aones have a new dye which is documented as significantly less reliable.

Don't mess about with the book settings any reasonably new drive will auto do it, imgburn is the best software and will auto select the .DVD even if you do select the .ISO

First thing I would do is try again at 4x if that doesn't work I woud get some verbs from play for 10.99 there us also a post on here for 25 for £25 which is the best I've ever seen or you can try elites from svp but again mixed reviews. Only consistent disk is Singapore verbs

Failing that pioneer burners are the best for 360 burns

I assume your xbox has been been modified to allow it to play backup games as if it hasn't that would be the reason why it doesn't work!!!!

yes its been modded, the guy that done it gave me a game and that seems to work fine although i only played it for 10 min but the game i burnt at times keeps saying needs cleaning etc, thats why i was wondering if its somthing idone wrong, both games are on AONE disks
#30
It sounds like a bad burn if it works but is unreliable, as people say, try using verbs, though to be honest i've had no trouble with aone discs.. could also be that your xbox drive is on the way out, is it new?

That should do you however due to the nature of usb2 and usb enclosure chipsets you may get Semaphore Timeout Errors whilst using SPTI as I/O interface, using Wnaspi32 can get round this but still no guarantee.
#33
use verbatims. My xbox would never play anything burnt on aone DVDs but my friends would play them fine. Mine 100% works with verbatims though. They may cost more, but I have yet to have a coaster
