if you get a self certificate you will get ssp its not alot though, you can print the self certificate off the internet then go to the doctors and ask for a sick note to cover the other days.

Its not! I actually only took 2 days off the rest was on my annual leave and days off. But I spent 5 full days in bed, the following 3 resting, dizzy if I tried to stand. I went back to work too early. If you say that you have never had 'flu' but just a bad cold.

Oh and OP. Just go back with self cert. Hopefully they won't note the extra day. Also the first day as long as you worked 4 hours its not counted.

Your doing the right thing you know, as come tomorrow you would just feel so uncomfortable for being off when you knew you could have been at work.

Good luck :)

they tell you not to go to thedoctors if you have flu but they give you a number to ring as you still need to report it if you have flu like symptoms - this would then have covered your reason for being off
