hey all.

i know most of you lot love your gadgets so i thought you may be the ones to ask, my OH is going on a lot about wanting an ipod touch so i thought i may start looking around now to sort a surprise for him for christmas. I was just wondering what the best size is, i found 8gb on comet for £150 but would an 8gb be big enough, they seem really expensive for what they are, or that could just be the girly in me, my usual response to him is "what wrong with the MP3 player you have" LOL.

anyway any help would be much appreciated

The iPod touch is so much more than a mp3 player. Internet, Email, contacts, calendar, youtube and the best thing of all the app store. Some of the apps are just fantastic and so useful. It also has a large amount of games.

Well worth the money. The newer ones, 32/64 GB, have a faster processor but the older ones are still fantastic and there are good refurb deals on the 2nd Generation.

Depends on how he would use it, if it's just for music, & music videos, apps & things then 8GB should be plenty.

However if he would want to put films or tv programs on it as well then you would be better off considering a larger capacity.

I would never have dreamed of watching a film or tv on such a small device but once I got my 8GB iTouch it soon changed my way of thinking, I have about 4GB worth of music on mine, plus apps and photos & once I added 3 tv programs lasting 1 hour it was then full.

I have since changed to a 16GB iPhone & having the extra capacity is so much better.

What has changed from Version 2 to Version 3? I can only see improvements to the processors on the 32 and 64GB versions, the 8 and 16GB versions don't seem to have changed. If that is the case then Apple are selling refurbished 2nd Generation 8 and 16 GB models for £119 and £149 respectively, free postage and 4% Quidco available. http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/specialdeals/ipod?mco=Nzk2MDY1OQ
