2,300miles in 3 years and it's had the front chaged to mimic a GTi? I might be missing something blatantly obvious here...
#9
Very Very nice. I didnt realise 56 plates would be that cheap. my mayte bought a 58 gti for 17k brand new. Thats not bad at all. They will last a good 10 years
#10
yh i did notice that. but still not a bad price for a golf

Was a pointer toward the 1.4 TSI really, this car was actually bought by a member on here yesterday, the grills been changed thats all from the GT grill to the GTI mimick (you can just about see the alloys are GT spec not the GTI specials) . . .

But I'd go for a Golf over an Astra for that budget any day :)

75k mileage wise but its a ton of car for £7500! R32, 3.2l V6 - looks mean, sounds great and still space for 5 :)

As Mrs Doyle would say from Father Ted, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on,

I still don't get why someone would change the grills to make the car look a bit sportier, yet only do 2.300m in it! I'd have ran away from that one.

But yeah, VW's over an Astra although new shape Astra's are pretty nice, and i think the VW's between 2005-2008 look like modified Ford Focus's...prefer the old shape R32

[edit]nice work mbgringo!, that's more like it

lol. yh i admit golfs are incredible cars. I would ideally love one. I have seen a black 1.6 sxi 58 plate vauxhall astra, 4000 miles done. its not to bad i dont think. A golf for this equivelent price i would be looking at a 20k mileage 56 gti

And in two years time, they'll be worth the same :)

Astras depreciate like a beeatch . . . . .

I recently sold my Mini Cooper and brought a Dark Grey 1.8 Astra Design ( Top Spec) Really good on petrol, smooth ride and really nippy too. Can't go worng after owning a BMW :x

Get a brand new Alfa MiTo

EDIT: After research you may have to get a pre-reg one, but nearly new.

Don't buy an Astra. They make look OK but they're nasty to drive.

And the Golf GTi/R32 will be better, lol.

It's always worth running through a quick quote, just to get an idea. Plus, when at 25, that's a magic number to the insurance company, and you drop down the risk list, and it is cheaper.

On an old shape E Class, a '98, I had a quote of £1400, at 21, so not that bad really.

That's why I suggested the Alfa, it's not classed as a young persons car so will probably be a little cheaper to insure, it depends whether you like the styling or not.

R32 is a stunner. not so goood on petrol though and insurance.
#29

He's under 25, there aint no way he getting insured on a 3.5 litre engine!! lol
#30
i've been around car shopping,
seen a vauxhall astra 1.6 sxi black for 15k mileage 58 reg - £9000
toyota celica 06 reg black again 25k mileage 06reg - £9500
Golf GTI black 06 reg black again 35k mileage 06 reg - £10,250

rx8 is out of question, way to expensive insurance and maintenence.

prices any good and which one you reckon. all this feedback that has been given im so grateful for. so thank you all

Confussion!

The Astra's are good cars, however, they are due to be replaced with a new model later this year, which will reduce prices on the old shape ones.
#33
