people have been saying that Fabianski should be 'put down'. Might be a good idea, turn him into glue and he might finally hold onto something.... ;)

I want to feel sorry for him but he's been given so many chances, the worst goal keeper in an Arsenal shirt.
#2
its wengers fault for not buying a better goalie.
you cant expect any old goalie to perform well just because their in an arsenal shirt.

i think its Gerry Peyton (reserves Manager)

Fabianski is quite a good shot stopped, similar to Gomez but just like Gomez, he's rubbish at everything else lol

Almunia is a waste keeper as well, he's blatantly the worst first choice keeper we've had in over 20 years.

I would loan out Fabianski for a season to see if he can gain his confidence and prove he's a good keeper (Wenger seems to think he'll be the worlds best one day....I know, I know, I laughed at that too but then again, I also laughed....along with everyone else at the thought that he had faith in Alex Song and look what he's turning into) and I'd buy a class keeper, pushing Almunia down the pecking order.

Fabianski actually pulled off a couple solid saves but he's too inconsistant....if I was a defender, I would never be able to trust my keeper for any shot and that would cause eratic decisions at the back....which is not the best thing to hear when you have the oldest and probably the most unfit backline in the premier league lol

Tbh you can't compare fabianski to gomez , he's one of the best keepers this season. Whereas fabianski just sucks

Oh yeah I know he wasn't the greatest keeper but his reactions to challenges etc was always priceless

Big mistake not going for Given last January....Hart is a good GK with great potential but I'm not sure he can step up to playing in the biggest stage like the CL....He needs a couple of more years to develop so I would sign Sorensen and push Almunia to 2nd choice....Sorensen, like Jussi, Schwarzer or Friedel, has become strongger with age....and 32 is not really bad for a GK !!
#18
We had Sorensen, a right flapper who instills little confidence in the back 4. Hart is Arsenals best bet, he will step up to the grade.

Dunno how you all blame the keeper for your teams capitulation at the hands of one of the lowest scoring clubs in the Premiership! They all just switched off.

3 goals in 10 minutes - wasn't Wigan's tally for the entire season only 30?

Feel free to quote on this thread where anyone has "blamed the keeper for the teams capitulation"

Lol I also laughed when Fabianksi yet again made a mistake. It got to around 75 minutes and I was thinking wow a game where our keeper hasn't messed up, but I didn't have to wait long. Our keepers have cost us more points this season than any other team's keeper, just by making laughable mistakes  I don't think we'll get Hart though, there's no way City would sell him especially to us, and Wenger already ruled out Lloris. There are still a lot of top quality keepers out there, and well any goalkeeper is better than our current bunch, so will be interesting to see who we get.

Got to say Arsenal got what the deserved yesterday, there was no fight, no urgency and sloppy play, I don't understand why RVP wasn't given 20 minutes or say Wenger gambled and lost on that one.

It doesn't have to be in quotes for anyone to form this as the general consensus.

Just about every post is discussing how bad the keeper is and who would be a suitable replacement.

Keeper is bad but that's just the start of Arsenal's issues.

Dead right, as usual everyone is to blame apart fro m the stars of the team, the pitch the rough tactics of the opposition, the list goes on. Ok he made one slight blip, what about the defending of the other 2, woeful.

Count yourself lucky that you never had this joke of a keeper

Yeah I agree. We did have so many players out but you'd expect the players out there to be able to see out a 2-0 lead against Wigan, pretty pathetic on the whole. I think Campbell, Clichy, Eastmond and Walcott are the only ones that could emerge from that game with any form of credit. Van Persie showed more determination in the 3 minutes he was on the pitch than some of those players did across the 90.

As for the people saying we're only blaming the keeper, we're not. But everyone should understand the importance of a good, commanding goalkeeper. No team can win anything with such awful goalkeepers. They make loads of mistakes, they don't command their area or instruct the defenders what to do, which means most of the time we can't even defend as a unit properly as there are no instructions from behind. At least with mad Jens he would make excellent saves and also always shout at the defenders and make sure they know what they are doing and when they've done something wrong.

i also agree but, the goalkeeper stand out as always, sylvestre was dire and always has been ,really dony know why arsenal signed him. fair enough he scored a goal the other day ,but hes not good enough. bet fergie was rubbing his hands with joy
